Rest And Ribs -Bonus Day #3 Twelve Days of Christmas

Day #3 Twelve Days of Christmas

Rest and Ribs
Let me say first of all a big thank you to Odie for picking up the slack for me over the last several days. I do not mind writing Mile Markers, for the most part, but it is time consuming each day. It was nice to have Odie take care of it so I could rest with one less commitment.

Thank you, Odie!

And to all of you, it is great to be back. Thank you for the well wishes and inquiries during our absence. Your love and appreciation are noted and appreciated right back at you!

KJo and I did a little sightseeing on our trip and we enjoyed every moment of it. Most of our time was spent watching the ocean and we found it very relaxing. However, the sightseeing and the ocean were bonuses. The main purpose was rest and that is what we enjoyed the most.

Even with nearly 2500 miles driven, we rested beautifully while we were gone.

I have never been able to sleep really good in my adult life. I have mostly slept enough to keep going and then moved on. I have always blamed it on not wanting to miss anything happening. Whatever the reason, it has been my reality.

I have always had plenty of strength to go and to do whatever needed to be done. COVID changed that. Running on 4-5 hours of sleep has been much more difficult this year.

During our time away the last two weeks, I have had several nights of amazingly great rest! Hallelujah! It felt so good and refreshing. I think I could get used to sleeping like that.

Our first night home I was laying awake after 4.5 hours and then up reading, typing and writing a few minutes later. Maybe I will do better in the coming days, but the rest was wonderful while it lasted.

We also ate well while we were gone. We visited Sonny's BBQ four times on our big circle. We ate at Sonny's in Valdosta, Georgia, Haines City, Florida, Port Orange, Florida and Nicholasville, Kentucky. I had wonderful dry rub ribs every time! Wow!

Would you like to see a picture or two?

I learned to love dry rub ribs from Burbanks BBQ, a local Cincinnati restaurant that is now closed. Man, I miss that place! I have been eating Sonny's ribs since the early 90s and they are a pretty good option!

We also sang and preached a few times during our time off, but that has already been documented here for the most part. We plan to kick off a new year of revivals right after Christmas at our home church, then northern Kentucky and then a big jump to north Texas.

We hope you will go along with us on the ride. Thank you for stopping in today.

Davy
