What A Day That Will Be

Hey Friends,

This is Odie coming to you from the road. We are thrilled to be in Mississippi. I am ready to see all of our adopted family and wonderful friends. Revival begins tomorrow at First Assembly in Richton. We are anticipating a fabulous week here with Pastor Scott Morris. Please come join us in revival if you are in the area.

Yes, I am super excited to be with our dear friends in Richton for the week. We know that in the snap of finger our allotted time to visit will be over and it will be time to hit the road.

Someday my time on earth will be done and I will go to Heaven. I have been thinking a lot about Heaven this week. I am looking forward to going to this amazing place one day.

I read in the Bible of all the incredible things Heaven has in store for Christians. There will be no sin, no more sickness, no more pain and no death. I will be able to walk on my own on streets of gold next to the crystal river and there will be no more goodbyes.

Most of all I will get to see my Savior face to face and thank Him for all He has done for me! I have planned nearly my entire life to reach this perfect place. It will be way above and beyond any of my human expectations. I definitely long to go there!

Sometimes we are blessed to be in church services that seem to be a sip or taste of what Heaven will be like. One of those special times happened several years ago in Charlotte, North Carolina and it made a lasting impression on me.

We were in revival at Paw Creek Ministries, the pastor's wife Sis. Juanita Chambers sang the old song "What A Day That Will Be". The precious Spirit of God moved that night and I can not remember if the service got any farther than that song.

I do remember sitting on the platform of that church and it being a time when I felt an extra connection to Heaven. The lyrics of "What A Day That Will Be" resonated in my soul. They have been special to me every since then.

Sis. Jaunita Chambers reached Heaven on Sunday. She will be missed greatly by Bro. Chambers, their family and church family! Please keep them in your prayers! I count it a honor to have known her and called her my friend. I look forward to seeing Sis. Chambers again when I reach Heaven.  I know she is no longer singing about "What A Day That Will Be" she is experiencing it first hand.

Here is a picture from the archives. My friends text it to me this week. I think it is from January 2006. Pictured here is Sis. Chambers and myself, along with her granddaughters Tiffany and Cami.

Thank you for taking time to visit here today."What A Day That Will Be" was penned by southern gospel legend Jim Hill. I think it is a wonderful song with a great message. Click here to see a video from September 2013. The Isaacs are singing this song with special guest Cameron Isaacs. This is not my video but you can see my side of this concert by clicking here

Below I have included the song lyrics. Take a moment to read them and ponder the message.

What a Day That Will Be

There is coming a day,
When no heart aches shall come,
No more clouds in the sky,
No more tears to dim the eye,
All is peace forever more,
On that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

There’ll be no sorrow there,
No more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no pain,
No more parting over there;
And forever I will be,
With the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

Odie
