The Amazing Love of God

Hello Dear Friends,

Thank you for taking a little bit of time out of your day to check in with us. This is Odie reporting in for another Saturday. I wish all of you could have been with us in Gainesville, Texas. We had a precious move of God in every service at House of Prayer. It was great to have several of our friends visit us. As always, Pastor Dennis King and his congregation treated us like we were family.

Last night we were privileged to be a part of youth rally at Victory Holiness Tabernacle. God moved in the altar and the young folks really responded. It is great to be back in Watauga, Texas with Pastor J.J. Stevens. We are looking forward to a good day of services tomorrow here at Victory as well.

I want to take a moment to personally say thank you for your prayers for City Reach. Dad shoulders the brunt of the City Reach burden and work load. Your prayers are a tremendous boost to Dad and our family. I appreciate all of you who let us know you are supporting us in prayer!  This week a lot of preparation will be going into City Reach. We need guidance in several areas and protection as we travel and work.

I have thought a lot this week about the love of God. It is truly amazing to realize God wants us to experience real love. God sent His only son, Jesus, to Earth. Jesus willingly He left His Heavenly home and His place at His Father's side. He became flesh and dwelt among men. Jesus knew all along He would give His life on a cross so we could have salvation. It is humbling to think God did all that for me and you.

I am so grateful to know true love in my life. That Love is from an awesome God.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

If you have never experienced our Savior's love or maybe you have strayed away; I want to encourage you to call upon the name of Jesus today.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Dad often says the world has cheapened what we think of as love. I am thankful I have the love of family and friends but nothing compares to the love of my Heavenly Father.

Are you wondering what triggered my thinking of God's amazing love for us? I was listening to wonderful lyrics penned years ago by Dottie Rambo, "If That Isn't Love". She started writing songs at 8 years old. I have heard in the past that this song was her first song but I have not been able to confirm it. Whenever Dottie wrote these words they definitely captured a timeless message.

Dottie Rambo is credited with penning somewhere around 2,500 songs in her lifetime. This one has to be one of the best. She definitely had a way with words.

He left the splendor of heaven

Knowing His destiny
Was the lonely hill of Golgotha

There to lay down His life for me

If that isn't Love
The ocean is dry
There's no stars in the sky
And the sparrow can't fly
If that isn't Love
Then heaven's a myth
There's no feeling like this
If that isn't love

Even in death He remembered
The thief hanging by His side
He spoke with love and compassion
Then He took him to paradise

If that isn't Love
The ocean is dry
There's no stars in the sky
And the sparrow can't fly
If that isn't Love
Then heaven's a myth
There's no feeling like this
If that isn't love

If you would like to hear "If That Isn't Love" I listed a couple of links to clips of the Isaacs singing it as only they can. The first is a studio version with Bill Gaither.

The second clip was recorded at a concert in Tennessee last year.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Odie
