A Serious Request For Prayer

I had a post all typed up for today, but it did not seem right at the moment. I am going to ask for prayer instead.

We have friends that are desperately in need of prayer. I know that many of you that regularly read Mile Markers are people that know how to pray. I want to make you aware of our hurting friends so that you will pray for them.

First, I am asking you to pray for our dear friends in Ellisville, Mississippi and Richton, Mississippi. Sis. Margaret Eldridge from the Ellisville church passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday and her daughters, other relatives and church family are nearly in shock with grief. Sis. Margaret was a sweet and wonderful lady.

We have been grieving with our friends since we heard the tragic news and we are asking God to be near these precious people and give them strength through this horrible time.

Secondly, one of my very best friends in this area also needs God's touch. Pastor Wade Hicks lost his wife Wednesday afternoon. Sis. Rhonda Hicks has been sick with various serious ailments for quite a while, but there was no indication that her life was threatened.

She went down fast over a 24 hour period and she slipped into Heaven. Bro. Wade and his daughters and his church are crushed and we are too. It is so hard to believe that she is gone just like that.

Bro. and Sis. Hicks have been our friends for way over 30 years. They have been so kind and gracious to us and we have valued their friendship tremendously. Please, please, please pray for all the folks in the West Harrison church.

Thank you for joining us in prayer.
