Weekend Woundup and Weview 4/23/2018

Our weekend can pretty much be summed up as great church, hard work, long drive, more drive and home sweet barn. What a great weekend it was!

The last night of tent revival with Summit Holiness Church and Pastor Rick Simpson was outstanding. God was reaching for people and people were responding. I love being a part of that. God moving is the whole reason I drag that tent around and set it up. Hallelujah!

Here are a few pictures from the last night of tent revival.

After church the folks helped us take down the chairs and put them in the trailer.

They help us break down the sound system and carry it to the bus.

Last they helped take down the sidewalls and fold them up. Long term readers know that we rarely use the sidewalls but the cool temperatures at night made it necessary several nights last week.

I was out early Saturday morning preparing the trailer and putting everything in place so that the tent take down would go smoothly. Kelly Jo helped me remove the lights and then we were ready for our help to arrive.

We began taking the tent down at noon and by two we were pulling out of the church.

I will try to post more pictures of taking down the tent later in the week but here is the take down crew.

I stopped at the first rest area going north to "do the work of the evangelist" and after that we pretty much hammered down. Hammered down is a relative term when you are driving a bus pulling the tent trailer. I never get in much of a hurry with this rig, that is for sure.

After all of the tent stuff going on, I did not know how far we could drive. We made it 375 miles to a rest area in Kentucky. Traffic was good through Birmingham and kind of good through Nashville. That helped us make some progress.

The Green Machine is a tough little animal to pull this heavy load.

Yesterday we had one stop for fuel and lunch.

We lost quite a bit of time to heavy traffic but the BoggsMobile and tent trailer pulled in the drive of the Lazy OD Ranch about 3:45. We unhooked the trailer near the road, turned the bus around and backed it into the barn.

Steve and Karen met us with Dad's truck as we arrived and I used the truck to put the tent trailer in place.

We went in the house to look things over and visited with Steve and Karen. Then it was back to work.

By the time I was finished with all the things that needed to be done and prepared to eat it was nearly 8:00. We ate as we visited with Steve and Karen some more. We love spending time with family.

Bro. Larry and Sis. Rosemary Landress arrived right before bedtime and it is great to have them here. Bro. Larry is here to work on the concrete for the porches on the house. The weather guessers have slipped a big chance of rain into the mix the next few days and we think we need some sunshine. May God grant us what we want and what we really need. He knows which is best.

That wraps up the weekend. We are looking forward to a bunch of progress this week. Thank you for joining us.

It Is All In Jesus

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in. I hope you are having a good weekend. We have had a great week of tent revival in Prattville, Alabama. The tent is supposed to come down today at noon. Once the tent is secure in the trailer, we plan to travel toward Ohio today. Please keep us in your prayers.

I am excited to get home and see the progress on the home that is being built for me to live in. Then end of this project is in view. There is more work scheduled to begin on Monday. We need good weather to pour concrete and the Landress family and others are traveling many miles to do it.

Rain has started creeping into the forecast. Will you help us pray about that. God can move the rain out for a few days? Stay tuned. God's plan is yet to be revealed, but I am sure it will be best.

Today I am reminiscing and counting my blessings. God has been so good to me and I want to take a moment to testify.

On April 13th 2014, I had a life changing experience. I woke up blind in my left eye. The next nine days were very uncertain and scary. Was my new normal going to include being both crippled and blind?

It is true as the Bible says, "fear hath torment." The context of that verse is also true.

I John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

God carried me through it all in his perfect love! Plus He began restoring my vision at the end of nine days.

Four years later I have better vision today than I had before I lost it. I am still thanking God for giving me my sight back! I value the gift of sight a lot more than I did before. It is true a blessing from God.

I know a lot of you reading this helped me and my family through that uncertain time. I will never forget the family of God that rallied around us. Many warriors fought that battle with us through prayer. It helped us reach victory. I will forever be grateful for the family of God!

I have been thinking about the song “It’s All In Jesus” for a few days. This song is my testimony in a nutshell.

This first verse is my faith building verse! I believe that one day I too will walk away like the lame man at the gate! I give Jesus the praise for it today!

Verse 1
The lame man laid at the temple one day
Peter and John came up to pray
They prayed and lame man walked away
It’s all in Jesus give Him the praise.

The second verse is my faith building and worshiping verse. Because of this story and others in the Bible I had faith to believe that my blindness could be healed! I have experienced the miracle of restored sight. Like the blind man, I say, it’s all in Jesus and I give Him the praise!

Verse 2
The blind man came to the Master one day
He touched his eyes with the spit and the clay
He opened his eyes and I heard him say
It’s all in Jesus give Him the praise.

This third verse talks about the miracle of all miracles, salvation.  If I have my vision and the use of my legs to walk without salvation I would be unable to enter Heaven one day.

I am so thankful Lord heard me when I called upon him in my sin and saved my soul! This miracle is available to all who ask and believe. Now today He is guiding my steps and holding my hand as I walk through life!

Verse 3
I called on the Lord from the valley of sin
He reached way down and He took me in
Now He guides my steps and He holds my hand
And I’m runnin’ all the way to the Promise Land

Four years ago I had no idea what was happening or how I was going to come through, but I knew God was by my side leading the way. I hope I never have to face anything like that again, but if I do He will be there with me.

I can rest in that blessed assurance because of my salvation. I can boldly sing this chorus in praise to Jesus my Savior, Healer and Constant  Companion.

Chorus
Jesus, give Him the honor
Jesus, give Him the praise
Jesus, give Him the glory
It’s all in Jesus, my sweet Jesus
It’s all in Jesus, give Him the praise .

Are you facing your own obstacles of life? I would like to remind you to give Him the glory and honor. Praise Him for what He has done in the past and what He is going to do in the future! ”It’s All In Jesus”

Thank you for stopping by here today. I am so glad to have you visiting with us. May God encourage and bless you is my prayer.
