Weekend Woundup and Weview #37

Our last weekend in Ohio for a while has come and gone and it was a great one. Thursday, Friday and Saturday we worked on the house from early in the morning until late in the evening and we are seeing a lot of progress.

Danny (Kelly Jo's Dad) continued painting walls and cabinets and it all looks really good. I will try to snap some pictures the next few days.

Thursday evening we moved the finished linen cabinet from the garage to her bedroom. Isaac and I carried it around to the front door and then Kelly Jo, Lisa and Steve helped us from there. It required every one of us and a little combined brain power to get it in!

Here it is Saturday, mounted and with the doors installed. You can also see one of the pocket doors in place. The doors still need to be painted but we were trying this one out to see how they look. We love the pocket doors!

Thursday we had a team dig the ditch for the electric service.

That became a huge job with some drainage ditch work mixed in. I will devote a whole post to that later.

Sunday morning we were preaching at Dryden Rd which is always and honor and a privilege. It was a special honor Sunday because Bro. Bennie asked his daughter, Renae Coffman, to sing with us and she did. We used to sing with Renae a lot years ago and that is definitely one of the things we miss by not being at home. Thank you for singing with us Renae!

Ben was playing drums after church and it was so cute.

We had just enough time for a little salsa at Acapulco in the afternoon before our Sunday siesta.

Sunday night we went to Calvary Pentecostal Lighthouse in Middletown to preach for Pastor Kevin Allen and his folks.

It was a joy to be in church with friends and to experience the presence of God with them. God touched us in the altar and we are expecting to hear good reports in the future. Praise God for His help.

We have been keeping up with our friends near the Houston area since the hurricane and most of them are doing well. I honestly never thought about Bro. Mark Compton and his folks because they are quite a bit west of Houston and they are north of I-10.

We received word the other day that their church is flooded. The building is relatively new and they have built an additional building too. My heart is hurting for them as they try to figure out how to move forward.

A house we rented years ago flooded and I remember that helpless, hopeless feeling. We had less than one foot of water in the house. We moved out, spent a few nights in a hotel and then moved on with life. We had friends, family and the Red Cross to help us out. I do not think any of our personal items were damaged badly.

The folks in the Houston area have it much worse than that and the feeling of desperation must be overwhelming. Let's ask God to help them all. Please pray for Bro. Mark and his folks too.

That wraps up our weekend. Thank you for reading today.

View Out The Front Window September 3, 2017

This was our view from the front door last Sunday morning at Haytown Hill Church near Metamora, Indiana.

This was our view out the front window.

This was our view out the front window of the BoggsMobile after we pulled into the Barn Sunday evening.

Here are the links from our posts this last week.

Thanks for reading today. May God bless you on this Lord's day.

Odie is Back In Blogland

Hey Friends, this is Odie checking in for another summer Saturday. Summer Saturdays are in short supply for this year. It is so hard to believe fall is upon us.

In just a few days it will be travel time. The BoggsMobile will be rolling down the road for our next tour. We have a couple of quick stops by home planned in the near future but if all goes according to plan we will be traveling mostly until Christmas. I am ready to see a lot of you in the next few months.

Dad has detailed for you recently that I had some phone issues beyond my control. Thanks to Dad for posting for me last Saturday and compiling everything I had previously sent to the blog. I am so glad to have a working phone and be connected again to the world.

My phone quit without warning as I was preparing to send my final sets of pictures from Campmeeting into the blog last week. Sadly I lost over 30 pictures from after church Friday night. Some of them were great pictures that I was excited to share with you but I can not retrieve them.

I did recover a few from Friday night's service. I am glad for good WiFi and Google Photos for helping me back up the pictures before my phone crashed. I do highly recommend the app Google Photos. Click Here  if you want to learn more about the app. I try to sync my photos on my phone when I find free WiFi available. Here are the pictures below I was able to salvage.

Indoor Campmeeting 2017 at Dryden Road Pentecostal Church is now in the history books. It was wonderful to be home with our church family. Indoor is always a highly anticipated week at Dryden Road.

God blessed us with wonderful services. The preaching we heard was food from Heaven and the presence of God was amazing. It was an incredible blessing to feel Him so sweet and near throughout the week. We also experienced awesome food, fellowship and fun during campmeeting.

As I close I want to praise the Lord for helping my Mamaw, Martha Boggs!  Thank you for your prayers. She is home recovering from her hospital stay. We ask for prayer a lot for our dear family and friends. I love to pass on the praise reports when those prayers are answered.

Thanks for visiting with us today.

This Week's House News

Can you believe that it is September 1st already? We started 2017 like three weeks ago, right? Wow!

It is time for a few more pictures of the progress on the house. There has been a lot going on this week including one project that I will share more about later.

First I have a great picture for you. This is a pre-hung door for the coat closet. It was ordered specifically for the house. Look closely at the name.

You see it? This door is for Oddie Boggs. That is right, Oddie instead of Odie. I would say that is just about right. I do have one question though. How do they know ODDie so well?

Danny, Kelly's Dad has been working very hard. We really created a bunch of work for him on this house. I am sure he is ready to be finished but it has been very nice spending some time with him. I know that Kelly Jo has loved having him here.

Danny is the best painter around and this house will be another testimony of that. He is a perfectionist in his work and it shows. We are thankful to have him in our lives AND on the job!

The cabinets look treeeeemendous!

Tuesday was also the garage door day!

There will be some more trim pieces later but we think it looks great!

Last week Bro. and Sis. Galiher took a moment to stop by and look at the house while they were in town.

We took them to sample the salsa at Acapulco, of course

Sis. Galiher wanted to be the first person to sleep in Odie's guest bedroom!

Thank you, Sis. Galiher for the good laugh.

So we are making progress on the house and trying to get to a stopping place before we leave town next week. The next two days should be pretty busy.

Thank you for dropping in to sit a spell.
