Put A Lid On It!

I hope you have a nice 4th of July!

I promised last week to show you the rest of the pictures from the roof install and I need to tell the rest of the story too.

Bro. Mitch Boggs Jr. and Bro. Jayson Fellers brought their families in 2015 and put a roof on the barn for us.

We loved having them then and we are so happy they were willing to come again to put the roof on the house that is being built for Odie to live in!

They arrived Wednesday morning after driving most of the night and worked a few hours. They needed rest badly but they completed quite a bit in those few hours.

Thursday they hit the ground running and ran hard all day long! You will see in the pictures below that they worked very late. I looked at my clock when they called it quits for the night and it was 10:51 PM. Wow!

These first pictures are from Odie.

The wind kept popping up a bit Thursday and it became a little dicey a time or two. They all took the wind in stride and kept right on working.

Friday morning they had a little more soffit and a little more porch ceiling to complete.

They pulled out about 1:30 on Friday. It was sad for us.

Mom and Dad jumped in to help us clean up and a couple of hours later, we were finished.

Here are pictures from my phone on Thursday and Friday.

Bro. Mitch has lifts for this high stuff at home but he did it all from an old extension ladder here. He went up and down a whole bunch of times!

Mom, Dad, Steve and Kelly Jo prepared food several times.

I told you earlier that they worked late Thursday.

When it came time for them to leave Friday, it was hard to see them go!

But they left behind some beautiful work! Bro. Mitch, Bro. Jayson, Colton, Cinch and Braden worked so hard. The smaller kids and Sis. Lynn and Sis. Brittany worked hard too! We are very thankful for all that they contributed toward this special project! Their work is excellent!

The roof is taupe color like the barn roof but the trim, soffits and porch ceilings are white. It really looks great!

I think that wraps up the roof part of the construction. I am working inside this week and we had some visitors Monday. I will try to tell you more about that tomorrow.

I hope you have a great day. Thank you for dropping in to sit a spell.

Happy, Happy Birthday to Kelly Jo Boggs July 3, 2017

Happy Birthday to the most beautiful woman in the world!

Kelly Jo Boggs July 3, 2017

This woman believed in me when no one else did. She believed I would be a man some day. She believed that I could provide for her. She believed that I could live for God. She believed that I could be a good Daddy. She believed that I could be a good man.

Later, when my mind was on fire, she prayed me through. She stood by me. She loved me. She encouraged me. She nursed me back to health. She loved me and she continued to believe in me.

She has been a rock in our lives. She was a wonderful Pastor's wife. She is a hard working evangelist's wife. I do not believe there is an evangelist's wife that works harder.

She keeps us on the road. She sets up tents. She tears down tents. She handles sound equipment. She plays piano and sings with excellence and she does it for hours at a time.

She runs our household. She takes care of Odie. She takes care of me. She goes way beyond the call of duty. She is the Proverbs 31 woman on steroids.

She loves God. She loves God's Word. She loves God's ways. She loves God's people.

She loves people that are broken and away from God. She has given the majority of her adult life allowing God to reach people through her

She is beautiful. She is kind. She is trustworthy. She is Godly. She is loving. She is gracious. She is so many things that I aspire to be.

She is the perfect mother. She is the perfect wife and wonder of wonders, she loves me!

I heard recently that Wonder Woman is a new blockbuster movie that is breaking records for money making super hero movies.

Seriously?

They do not know one thing about Wonder Woman. I live with her and today is her birthday!

I am wishing you a very happy, happy birthday, Kelly Jo! May God bless you for all that you do!

Excited To Raise The Roof

Hey Friends,

Happy Saturday, this is Odie checking in. I hope you have had a great week. My week has been fabulous.

As Dad has told you, the house now has a roof! I can barely contain my excitement. I am amazed at the progress. Everything is coming together.

The Boggs family from Missouri and the Fellers family from Kansas made all the difference this week. May God bless Bro. Mitch, Sis. Lynn, Colton, Cinch, Roper and Cash Boggs and Bro. Jason, Sis. Brittany, Jalynn, Braden, Blake, Brett and Blane Fellers for their blessings to us. They worked so hard this week.

I am excited the roof was finished yesterday but sad to see the crew pull out. Both families have been friends of ours for years. We do not get to see them often enough. It was wonderful to have our friends here! I am so thankful that God has brought awesome people into our lives.

Before I close, I want to say thank you to all my family that helped this week too. I appreciate all the work! Thank you Papaw, Mamaw, Uncle Steve and Deidre.

My parents worked so hard! I can never thank them enough. Mom and Dad, I love you so much!! Happy belated anniversary. I apologize you spent it working on the house. Happy Birthday to Mom on Monday. You are the most amazing parents. I am blessed with the best.

Thank you for stopping by today. Dad will have many more pictures of the roof process next week. Have a wonderful weekend.
