The Revival and The BoggsMobile

Revival

Revival at First Pentecostal in London, Kentucky has been going great this week. There has been good response in the altar every night. I am always thankful when folks are touched by the Word of God and come to the altar as a result. Praise God for His help.

Tomorrow we should have some pictures from revival here in London.

They have a good sized Christian school at First Pentecostal and Wednesday was Chapel day. Odie was going to talk to the students but she was not feeling well. I was her last minute replacement and I enjoyed it very much. It is a great opportunity to preach to young hearts and I love to watch God move on them.

This young man was kind enough to help me when I needed a hand.

BoggsMobile

All is going well with the BoggsMobile in Tennessee. Those of you that know me well, will probably be surprised to know that I have not been down there at all since I left it. I have a terrible long term case of Bus Induced Psychosis, BIP for short, but it is controllable with prayer.

The effects are also lessened when the bus is in good hands. The BoggsMobile is definitely in good hands with Jeff Rowe at East Tennessee Luxury Coach. He treats the bus as if it is his own and he understand my BIP.

I do miss getting to see how things are done. I am curious, especially when it comes to the bus, and I have learned so much from Jeff and his men on previous visits. That makes it hard to stay away but I must be faithful to my duties here.

Speaking of duties, it is time to get after it. I have a sneakin' suspicion they are going to want me to do something spiritual tonight.

Have a great day. Thanks for reading.

On The Road Again Newsletter March 2017

We mailed out Odie's "On The Road Again" newsletter on Friday. While Kelly Jo and I were working at the Ranch Friday, Odie was stuffing envelopes and putting on labels and stamps. I try to post the newsletter here when I remember to do it, so the text of it is below.

We include a small window of our schedule in the newsletter and I have copied it at the bottom. If you want to see what is coming up you can always go here.

I hope you enjoy the newsletter. Thank you for reading today.

On The Road Again
From Snow To Sunshine

Hello friends, I want to say our last newsletter was mailed the beginning of January and it seems that several people did not receive them. Also some random ones were returned. I apologize if you missed the last letter!
2017 began for us while shouting the praises of our On Time God with Pastor Crowley and our dear friends at First Church of God in Christ. I am so glad it worked out where we could attend their New Years Eve service in Wichita, Kansas. It was the the exact start we needed for this year.
New Years Day we were privileged to be a part of the dedication of Hope For The Hurting, a program sponsored by Bethany Revival Center. We are excited to watch God move in many lives through Pastors John and Judy DiZazzo and their congregation.
While in Wichita Pastor Terry White invited us to New Horizon Holiness Church. We enjoyed our visit with these precious people. New Horizon was home to us for 4 years and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
From there we traveled to Oklahoma. Revival at Amber Mission Holiness Church was a last minute addition to our schedule, but It was God ordained. We had 4 glorious services with Pastor Russell Cheek and family. It was wonderful to see God work!
The BoggsMobile then navigated the roads to Gainesville, Texas. It was so good to spend a weekend with Pastor Dennis King and our friends at House of Prayer.
By mid January the bus was ready for better weather. We are thrilled to get away from as much snow and cold as possible. Our first southern stop was Citronelle, Alabama. Pastor Darius Templeton and the people at Cedar Creek Holy Church of God always welcome us with open arms.
First Assembly in Douglas, Georgia was our next stop along the road. We had to hide from storms and I thank God for keeping us safe. We had a revival that we will remember for a long time. It is always fun to be with Pastor Marshall Adcock.
It was so good to be in Cantonment, Florida to be with our dear friends at Beams of Light Holiness Church. Pastor Philip Deane and his precious people are special friends!
The Lord moved in a mighty way at Grace Fellowship Holiness Church. We had a fantastic week with Pastor Jon Isaacs and the congregation in Elba, Alabama.
City Reach made us unable to get to some of our normal stops last year, and we missed getting to see many friends. One of those place was Forts Lake Assembly. I am thankful we got to spend a week with Pastor Tim Cauley and our friends in Moss Point, Mississippi. They treated us like family.
Our family split ways for six days. My parents enjoyed a great revival in Foley, Alabama. I hear they had a wonderful time at BibleWay Assembly with Pastor Eddy Sullivan.
I snuck away to the Singing At Sea for a quick vacation with my friend Kaylene Stephens. We had a marvelous time cruising to the Bahamas and enjoying Southen Gospel Music.
We joined forces again in Mobile, Alabama. The Lord blessed each service that we were in at Foster Grove Holiness Church. We had a good time with Pastor Jimmie McDuffie and his church!
Then it was time to visit one of our "homes", Ellisville, Mississippi. We love every moment we get to be with Pastor Kenny Morris and the church family at First Assembly. Words cannot describe how much we love this church and these people.
I am writing this from White Plains Holiness Assembly near Conehatta, MS. We are having wonderful services. We even got to see Bro. Ricky Boler run the ailse! We love coming here to be with these great people.
Allentown Campmeeting is on the horizon for us as I leave off writing. We are looking forward to it as always.
Well, I hear the engine starting so I better go 'cause we're On The Road Again!
  Odie

Note From Davy:
Plans are moving forward on the house that we hope to build for Odie’s future. We are a long ways from having everything in place but we are moving forward. The prints are drawn and we are in the process of pulling everything together to submit them to the county for permitting. If all goes as planned, we hope to begin the dirt work by mid-April. We are hoping to frame the house and get it in the dry the week of May 22nd.

If you can swing a hammer, fetch a 2x4 or pick up trash, you are welcome to join us that week. Call us to let us know you are coming, how many you are bringing and what your skill level might be. If you are not a framer but you have other construction skills, we may have a place for you later. There are other areas of the building process that we do not have covered. Call or email us for more details.

We would love to provide places to stay for those that come to work, but we will be unable to do so. We do have several motels within 10 miles.

Weekend Woundup and Weview #12

What an incredible weekend it was! We ran hard, drove a bunch of miles, crammed in a lot of activity and got a lot done as a result. Buckle up for a long post with lots of pictures. Let us begin all the way back on Wednesday.

We left Allentown Campmeeting Wednesday night at 10:00 PM. We had intended to stay a few minutes and fellowship but I had moved the bus in the afternoon to be ready to go and inadvertently parked in a space they needed for parking cars. I moved right before church but unfortunately I had to park in another place that would block folks in after church.

The only remedy was to leave as soon as church was over so that is what we did. Leaving at 10:00 was probably the best anyway since we had a long way to go. We did the majority of the drive Wednesday night before we stopped. The temperature was cool, the weather was perfect, the traffic was light and I was not sleepy at all.

I ended up driving 495 miles. We stopped for diesel just south of Montgomery Alabama and that was our only stop. We slept at the Flying J in Franklin, Kentucky about 40 miles north of Nashville. It was 5:50 AM when we arrived and 19 degrees! Brrrrrrrrr!

I slept about five hours and then cranked up the bus and prepared to roll again. Our first and only stop was on the other side of the interstate at Speedco. When I had my oil changed at Speedco near Jackson, Mississippi the Thursday before, their oil analysis machine was down. I had them save a small bottle of oil so I could have it checked at another Speedco.

I knew I would be passing this location Thursday so that was the plan. I love it when a plan comes together. I stopped in, they analyzed the oil and a few minutes later I was on my way with an excellent report.

At Speedco

We sailed around Louisville at the beginning of rush hour but hit northern Kentucky traffic at the worst time of the day. It was bad for 25-30 miles, including 15 miles north of Cincinnati. I probably would have been better to stop at a rest area in Kentucky and take a nap, but we made it.

We made it to the barn before dark and my brother Steve had the big door unfastened and ready to slide open for us. In a few minutes we were backed in and off to Acapulco.

We worked way into the night pulling stuff together for our busy Friday and then laid down for about four hours and then it was time to hit it. The first thing on the agenda was meeting with excavators and the septic guy. This is what it looked like while I was waiting INSIDE the heated Green Machine.

The white stuff you see does not indicate a problem with your screen. It indicates a problem with my head! What in the world am I doing this far north in mid March?

Those first round of meetings went well and then it was off to the township office for the final approval on the zoning permit for the house. That went well too. The township (Erin Hartsock) has been fantastic to work with during this whole process.

I also ran into (Almost literally) my cousin Gary Coffman. He is an electrician and has offered to coach us through the requirements of the electrical part of the house. A lot has changed since I wired houses for a living. Gary was very helpful.

By then it was way past lunch time so we made a beeline to Acapulco for a little salsa! See their matching shirts?

Then it was off to the county to apply for the building permit. That visit went VERY well too and I am hoping the whole permit process goes that smoothly. I should know something later in the week.

After a few more stops we went back to the barn. Kelly Jo had been working all day on getting the BoggsMobile ready to leave at the shop for several days and she had quite a bit more to do. I was rearranging the bays so that the AquaHot bay would be easily accessible for Jeff and his guys. That kept us busy the rest of the evening.

Odie and Lisa went to town and one of their stops was Skyline Chili for green spaghetti!

The water heater I installed temporarily in Mobile Alabama has worked out perfectly. It is amazing how much time I had been spending on the AquaHot every day for so long. The last four weeks have been quite a welcome break.

One of the things the bus is going into the shop for is the AquaHot, so it was time for the temporary water heater to come out. I drained it early Saturday morning, unhooked the water lines, unplugged the electric and scooted it out. It was one of the easiest things I did all weekend!

This where the water heater was sitting. That is part of the AquaHot behind it.

This is how it looks with the AquaHot cover in place.

I had one final meeting with a plumber and then it was time to crank up the BoggsMobile and hit the road again. We had to go right by Acapulco so we stopped for one or two bowls of salsa.

We sailed right through Cincinnati and northern Kentucky. Less than three hours after we left Acapulco we were pulling into First Pentecostal in London, Kentucky. It was a great trip and 196 miles!

Sunday we had two great services to kick off revival. It was incredible the way God swept in Sunday morning and declared His love for people. It seemed like I could feel the Lord loving the whole world.

If the Sunday services are any indication of God's intentions this week for revival, it is going to be good. I love revival.

Pastor Vernon Jarvis and Sis. Marsha

I had a little more driving to do to cap off the weekend. After settling the girls in a motel after church, I left in the BoggsMobile and pointed it toward East Tennessee Luxury Coach in Vonore, Tennessee.

I made a fuel stop but the drive was uneventful other than that. I pulled into the bus place at 12:35 and I was parked and shut down in about 15 minutes.

The bus will stay here several days and we will live in a motel in London while that is going on. I am sure I will have more to say about all that later.

It is time for me to catch a few hours of sleep before getting checked in here and driving the Green Machine back to London.

Thank you for reading today.

View Out The Front Window March 19, 2017

Here are links to the posts from the last week.

This was our view from the door of the BoggsMobile at Allentown early last week.

This was our view out the front window.

I will also show you the view from the other side of the bus since it included the rig of our good friends, the Millikins.

This was our view out the front window when we parked to sleep Thursday morning in Franklin, Kentucky.

This was our view out the front window as we backed into the barn Thursday evening at the Lazy OD Ranch.

This is our view out the front window now at First Pentecostal in London, Kentucky.

And this is our view out the front door.

We are beginning revival this morning here at First Pentecostal with Pastor Vernon Jarvis and his fine folks. We are excited to be here again. I hope you have a super great Sunday. Thank you for reading.

Allentown Campmeeting 2017

Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking in from the BoggsMobile. We have been on a solid run since arriving in Ohio on Thursday. Many projects have been tackled and it is time to roll again. We are headed to London, Kentucky where revival begins tomorrow. We are looking forward to a wonderful week with Pastor Vernon Jarvis. Come join us in revival if you can. We will be at First Pentecostal Sunday-Friday.

Dad worked long and hard on house projects this week! I am excited to report we are making progress toward getting things ready for the dirt work next month. God answered several prayers for us this week. Dad may have a better report for you later.

Earlier this week we were able to catch two days of the Allentown Campmeeting in Semmes, Alabama. It was great to be with Pastor Eugene Futral and all our friends at March Meeting. We enjoyed good fellowship with our brothers and sisters and received spiritual food for our souls. I was sad we could not stay for the entire meeting but I am very grateful we were able to catch half of it. I am already looking forward to being back at March Meeting at Allentown next year.

Thanks for stopping by. We always appreciate you taking time to read the blog. I will close with the notes I took during the preaching this year.

Odie
