Summary of City Reach OKC

I appreciate all the response from folks that missed the blog yesterday. I think I get more feedback when I miss a day than I do on a normal posting day. Have you all ever heard about accidentally reinforcing negative behavior? I may get lazy and blow off the blog more often! (Grin)

It is so hard to believe that we are at this point in City Reach 2016. It was only a few days ago when we were looking at City Reach from two years away and it seemed we would never get here. Now we are already finished with Dayton and we are preparing for our fall City Reach schedule.

Today's post is a summary of City Reach Oklahoma City.

Originally OKC was not even on my radar for City Reach. Pastor Lendell Birdsong called me in September of 2015 and asked if it was possible to bring City Reach to Oklahoma City and I am very glad that he did. I gave him a date in a very busy time of year and he and the other Pastors made it work so well.

City Reach OKC was a smooth operation from our very first meeting after the Planning and Vision Service we held at Blanchard in December 2015. We ended up setting the tent in the very first location that was suggested. The services were great, the participation from the Pastors and churches was wonderful and the response from the community was tremendous.

Each Pastor stepped up and went beyond the call of duty and we appreciate it so much. Also Sis. Dorothy Richey  and pastor Jeremy Brooks handled most of the logistics leading up to and during the meeting. They planned, they worked and they coordinated everything. That took a tremendous load off of me and I will never forget their kindness.

What a great blessing it was to have the Boggs family and Bro Jimmy Radcliffe bring the gospel tent to Oklahoma City! Bro. Davy and I had spoken last year about bringing City Reach to OKC  and I had told him that I would speak to the area pastors and see what kind of response we could get. I can say with a joyful heart that in my 26 years of pastoring, the fellowship of our area churches working together was one of the highlights of this past week for me.

Every service throughout the week was wonderful as the tent filled up nightly with people from every walk of life and race, hungry to hear God's word. Many found what their soul was searching for. The last night it seemed as if God just opened heaven over the blue and white tent as our churches pulled together for the lost praying in the altars.

Many were praying and touched probably as they had never been before but Jason a man, desperate for God's redemption and healing, who had been diagnosed with kidney failure prayed all the way through til the power of God was all over him.

Once again, we thank the Boggs family and Bro. Radcliffe for their burden to bring the gospel message to our cities across America. Only eternity will reveal all that God is doing!

City Reach OKC was a blessing to our church, as well as to our community. In addition to the souls from the immediate vecinity that were seeking God in the altar almost every night, our church enjoyed the added benefit of participating in a united effort with other local churches and pastors. The fellowship and mutual support among the various churches strengthened our common bond and opened the door to further engagement.

We thank God for City Reach OKC and the Boggs family for coordinating and executing such a needful and timely ministry in America's cities.

Summary of City Reach Tulsa

Today's post is a summary of City Reach Tulsa. I hope to follow this post later this week with the summary from City Reach OKC and soon with the summary of City Reach Dayton.

We had a difficult time securing our permit in Tulsa but once we did everything else fell into place quite nicely. It did not take us very long at all to realize we were right where we needed to be. No wonder we had such a hard time getting the proper permissions.

We were right in a great area for outreach and tent revival at the Fred Johnson City Park. The folks in the community were very welcoming to us and many of them thanked us for bringing the tent revival to them. I am still praising God for each one that prayed in the altar and received help from God.

Every City Reach has been very good and I am very thankful for that fact. But each week I am amazed that God keeps right on moving in the lives of people. It may be a different city but people are needing God every where and God is willing to help all that come unto Him.

It was a pleasure working with the Pastors and churches in the Tulsa area that were able to attend and help in the meeting.

I love hearing good reports of the results of City Reach long after we are gone. That is a good sign that something of eternal value may have been accomplished. Two of the Pastors involved in City Reach Tulsa have written their perspective and I want to pass their thoughts on to you.

From Pastor Nathan Conner

I can't even begin to tell you all the good that has came out of City Reach Tulsa! The Lord truly honors the work of each Pastor and individuals who work to reach the lost. We saw many saved and blessed that week. Our Church, Hilldale Holiness Church, has received one of the greatest blessings from it all! There was a Nigerian Muslim coming to City Reach serviced named Rasheed. He received Christ through City Reach and has since been coming to our church. We have had the privilege of seeing God moving in his life and transforming him.

I had him testify one night and he said, "I was in the darkness and God turned on His sunshine!! Now I would like to sing .."I have decided to follow Jesus...no turning back, no turning back." As he sang, you could feel the Spirit of the Lord come in so sweetly and hover over our church, giving His approval.

After the service, Rasheed asked me to pleased not call him by his muslim name any longer, he wanted to be called a Christian name, Bro. Richard. Not only through Bro. Richard has the Lord blessed our church. Because of our efforts to reach the lost in that area, God is sending other families from our area to our church.

I want to say thank you to Bro. Davy and his precious family for allowing us to be a part of City Reach. We count it a great honor and would do it all again tomorrow if they asked. God bless the Boggs Family.

North Heights Holiness Church was truly blessed to have been a part of City Reach Tulsa. Truly thankful for the burden and compassion for souls the Boggs family and Bro Jimmie Radcliffe have. The response to the altar each night was proof God is still reaching for hungry souls. I appreciated the prayers at the end of each service for healings and miracles. God is doing great things through this work!

The Tent Coming Down In Dayton, Ohio

Monday was a work day around the Lazy OD Ranch. I intended to start with mowing but rain set in over night and it rained pretty good until nearly noon. By then I was knee deep in other work and I never did get around to mowing.

Kelly Jo helped me all day on projects and we had a great time working together. My Dad also jumped in for several hours and my brother Steve and his wife Karen joined us for a several hours in the evening. It was a super day.

Today's post is mostly a picture post. Odie snapped a bunch of pictures while we were in the process of taking down the tent Friday night after the final service of City Reach Dayton. The service was a little longer than some of the previous nights so it was already getting pretty dark when by the time we were ready to lower the tent to the ground.

Plenty of folks stayed around to help and that always makes things easier. I sure appreciate people jumping in and finding something helpful to do. I pray that God blesses them for blessing us! We can not do this on our own and I am very thankful that God sends others that seem willing and happy to share the work load.

Here are the pictures. I hope you have a tremendous day.
