The Ronald Reagan Library and Museum Pictures

Yesterday's post was important to me and I think I was able to write what I wanted to say in a way that actually came through. Or, at least I hope it came through. Please take time to read yesterday's post if you have not read it.

Odie mentioned Saturday that we took her to The Ronald Reagan Presidiential Library and Museum Thursday morning. It really was every bit as good she told you. We enjoyed the whole morning very much. You do not have to love Ronald Reagan as a Governor or Presidient to love this place but I suspect if you think President Obama is the cat's meow or that President Carter was the best thing since sliced bread, then you might not enjoy the library as much as we did but I still think you will appreciate it.

The whole place is very well done and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous. We were all snapping pictures in the areas that pictures were allowed so i hope we captured some of it for you.

This was the well marked Bible of Reagan's mother. He place his hand on this Bible each time he took the oath of office.

This is the microphone Reagan used in the New Hampshire primary debate in 1980. In this microphone he delivered his famous line when the moderator tried to cut off his microphone. "I am paying for this microphone, Mr. Green."  The crowd roared with approval and even the other candidates joined in the applause.

The moderators name was actually Mr. Breen. Reagan got the name wrong but he said later that his impromptu line probably won him the debate, the primary and the nomination, right there.

The secret service agent credited with saving President Reagan's life when he was shot in 1981 was inspired to be a special agent by a movie that Reagan starred in many years before.

This is the actual suit President Reagan was wearing when he was shot. You can see the bullet hole and the rips where they cut it off of him. It was a brand new suit and that was the first time he wore it!

They had an exact replica of the oval office as it was when Reagan was president.

This 707 served as Air Force One while Reagan was president.

My only opportunity to ride horses with the president.

This is where President Reagan and his wife Nancy are laid to rest.

Special Time of Prayer for City Reach

Pastor Alan Harris caught the vision and felt the burden for City Reach as soon as I shared it with him. In fact, he, Pastor Scott Morris and Pastor Jared Burris were three of my earliest and most steadfast encouragers concerning City Reach. They have cheered, inspired, boosted, emboldened and supported us many times over the last two years. I am very grateful for them and for many others that have came along side us to encourage us on purpose.

One of the first things that Bro. Alan said he wanted to do for City Reach was have his church pray every night during a week of a City Reach campaign. He has called a prayer meeting at his church the first week of April, to correspond with our first week of City Reach in the Phoenix area.

He prepared a flyer for his church and for the churches that they fellowship. This is a screen shot of the flyer. If you click on this picture, your device should make it big enough to read.



I have been asking for people to pray that God would put us in the right place, at the right time, speaking the right word, to the right person. There are many people that have been praying that prayer everyday and I am positive that God has answered and will continue to answer that prayer.

I can not tell you how much strength I have received from knowing that Godly people are interceding to God on behalf of my vision and my burden. It is both humbling and invigorating. It is humbling to know that they take serious time for me and invigorating because I know that God hears and answers their prayers.

I was reading in Thessalonians last week and Paul's prayer request caught my attention. This has now become my specific prayer request.

II Thessalonians 3:1. Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have [free] course, and be glorified, even as [it is] with you:

That the word of the Lord may have [free] course... 

This is how I am praying Paul's prayer and how I am requesting that others pray Paul's prayer on my behalf and in regard to City Reach.

Pray that the word of the Lord not be obstructed, inhibited, impeded, thwarted or hindered. Pray that God will remove the obstacles, difficulties, interferences and restrictions that would dam up or jam up the free flow of the Word of God.

Lord, remove the restraint, even if it be found in me. Your Word having free course is more essential than my comfort and desires that are temporal and fleshly at best. The outpouring waves of your Word are more important than my will and way.

Turn on the flow of your Word and let it cascade like Niagara, washing downstream every challenge, as the Word surges toward the thirsty souls of men! Amen!

That the word of the Lord may have [free] course, AND be glorified

I wonder, how the Word of the Lord is glorified?
What indication would we have that the Word of God had been glorified?

The greatest indication to me that the Word of the Lord is glorified is when the sinner accepts it.

If the Word brings conviction to him.

If the Word reveals his sin.

If the Word points him to the redeeming savior.

If the Word brings the sinner to repentance.

Then the Word of the Lord is glorified.

Yes, Lord, let THAT be accomplished in City Reach!

So I am adding that to the prayer for me and for City Reach as well.

Let your Word have free course in every city, in every sermon, in every service. Let it flow, let it run, let it go to its target like a heat seeking missile AND let your Word bring the sinner to repentance that your Word may be glorified! Amen!

Let me shoot straight with you, friends. I have never been more dependent on the Lord than I am at this moment for effectual ministry AND I have never been more tempted to try to force it myself. I CAN NOT do this on my own. I CAN NOT make anything work. I know that is fact. However, I have never been more tempted to try to strong-arm my way through!

God give me grace to trust you AND your Word. That the word of the Lord may have [free] course, AND be glorified.

#12 Weekend Woundup and Weview

We have had  a super great weekend in California. Odie mentioned Saturday that we spent Thursday morning at the Reagan Library and Museum. That was a tremendous day. The library is situated on top of a hill in beautiful county. It was a perfect day to view the amazing scenery AND the library was great too. We have quite a few pictures from there that I will try to post later in the week.

We are parked only a few miles from the Pacific Ocean but we have been so busy that we had not even had a glimpse of the water. Friday morning we decided to remedy that injustice and swung down to see it on our way to explore revival possibilities and to meet more folks.

We drove the road over the mountains through Topanga State Park area and hit the ocean just west of Santa Monica on Highway 1. It is amazing how the mountains run right up to the ocean out here. There is no gradual leveling to the water. You are driving through mountains and the BAM, there it is! 

The water looked cold but there was no way to get Odie down there so we did not touch it for ourselves. Maybe we will find another place for her to touch it while we are here.

Saturday morning we wanted to roam the streets of Los Angeles, keeping our eyes open for ministry opportunities and we could think of no better place to find several thousand people than the Fashion District. This area covers about 90 blocks and we barely scratched the surface. We had a good time shopping, eating and interacting with people.

We have several pictures from that day too and I will try to post then later as well.

Sunday morning we left the BoggsMobile at 7:15 and returned over 14 hours later. We were in three services and met dozens of people and had a great day. It was long, but it was great. We also visited a possible tent site that we inquired about last Wednesday. It seems like a perfect site and I wanted to see what it looked like on the weekend. I like it even better now!

We spoke to the lady in charge Wednesday and then emailed her a formal request that night. We have yet to hear anything but it is in God's capable hands. I want to do a City Reach here and I have time to do it in late April or early May, but I do not want to force open a door. God knows where we need to be and when we need to be there. That is enough!
