A Nigeria Bound Suitcase

The school supplies for GoodNews Christian School in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria are on the way. Kelly Jo and Odie went to at least four different stores gathering the best deals on the particular school supplies that can be used at GoodNews.

Kelly Jo packed and weighed until she had the suitcase at 50 pounds on the dot. We owned a suitcase that was nearing the end of its life so we sent the supplies in it rather than buy a new one.

We took the whole kit and caboodle to the UPS store and sure enough it was 50 pounds on the nose!

By the time they wrapped it for shipping it was a little more than 50 pounds but it was wrapped good.

It arrived safe and sound at Pastor Sam Snow's in Texas. He will be leaving for Nigeria in a few days and will deliver the supplies for us. We sent money to Bro. Snow as well to pay for our suitcase to travel as an extra piece of his luggage. Hopefully we will have pictures of the folks in Nigeria receiving the bounty. I am very thankful Bro. Snow was willing to do it.

We sure appreciate those that purposefully helped send these supplies. These things can really make a difference in the lives of these students and certainly facilitates the teaching and enhances the learning experience. Sis. Ruth and Sis. Rebecca and their staff are always very thankful to receive whatever we can deliver or send to them. May God bless you for your kindness and generosity.

We also sent an offering to help with Sis. Ruth and Sis. Rebecca's supplies, a small offering to help with Sis. Dorcas' medical expenses, and offering for Pastor Shobanke and his church and finally an offering for a couple of the Pastors we try to support periodically. Thank you for helping us do that!

We are very anxious to return to Nigeria and our dear people there. Hopefully we will be able to go next November or December by God's grace. Bro. Shobanke tells me they are already fervently praying about it. Sounds good to me.

Thanks for reading.

Schedule Change For This Week

There is a schedule change that affects this week so I am interrupting regular programming to pass the news along.

We were scheduled to do a Planning and Vision Service in Richmond, Indiana Thursday night but that service is no longer on the schedule. The Pastor that had asked me to come, is not getting as much participation from local churches as he would like at this point. Even though he would still like for me to do a tent revival at his church, he did not feel like it would make much sense to do a Planning and Vision Service if most the churches were not planning to participate. I wholeheartedly agreed.

We may do a tent revival for him, a tent revival some where else or we may do a City Reach in another city. That remains to be seen. But there will be no service there Thursday night of this week. IF you know of anyone that might have been planning to attend Thursday, please let them know the service is canceled.

This will actually make our week a whole lot easier. We will be in the Tulsa Oklahoma area on Friday, so no service Thursday night in Indiana makes that trip much less difficult.

While I am discussing the schedule, we have a few added dates in the next few weeks as well. We will be in Elkton, Virginia at Bible Holiness for Pastor Brent Gabbard on Thursday December 10th. We will be in Dayton, Ohio at First Pentecostal for Pastor Kevin Lloyd on December 22nd. We will be at Garden Acres Pentecostal Church in Goshen, Ohio on Monday and Tuesday, January 4-5 for Pastor Dwayne Cornett.

You can always see our schedule at a glance HERE. That should bring you up to date.

A Very Boggs Thanksgiving!

Saturday was the big day for Thanksgiving dinner for the Boggs family. Since all the children married off, Mom has often had her dinner sometime other than Thanksgiving Day so that we could spend time with our spouse and their families on Thursday.

Kelly Jo, Odie and I are not usually home at Thanksgiving at all so this was an especially memorable year for us. We enjoyed every moment of the day! To be a part of this evening was a treat, the meal was tremendous, the camaraderie was terrific and the laughs will be treasured for a very long time.

Dad and Mom host a lot of our family get-togethers at their barn and everyone loves it. It is a great place to gather, eat and have fun. However, with colder weather the barn is out of the question so we often rent the fellowship hall at Dodds church for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

That has been very handy for us since we have been parked within 75 feet of the front door for the last several years when we are home. Now we are right next door at the Lazy OD Ranch so its still very convenient for us. It is nice that we have lots of room for the meal and for fun and games too.

Boggs people always have plenty of finger foods to eat while real food is on its way!

Like most families we have a large iPhone contingent in the Boggs family. It turns out that we had some very early adapters to iPhones in our family.

Check this out!

Even Android people can admit this is cool!

That was our Thanksgiving and what a great evening it was. Thanks for joining us.
