View Out The Front Window November 29, 2015

Check out our posts from the last week at the links below.

This is our view out the front window this week. Some days when I am working in the barn I will open the front doors so our view is better but Saturday was cooler and rainy so this is the view.

Our view out the front door.

This morning we will be singing and preaching at Dodds. Should be a great Sunday.

Thanks for reading.

Thanksgiving Continued

Happy Saturday!

This is Odie reporting from Ohio. I hope you all had a superb thanksgiving week. It has been wonderful to spend time with family. Our celebration continues today with the Boggs clan.

As Dad told you in Thursday's post I received an excellent report from my eye doctors Wednesday. I am Praising God for my 20/20 vision!

Another thing I am thanking God for is that my Papaw Danny is healthy. Last Thanksgiving Papaw was very close to a heart attack, and we did not have a clue that he was sick. Doctors told us he would not have survived an attack. We are extremely grateful for Gods mercy to our family!

God is so good to us! We are so unworthy of His mercy and grace. I am reminded of a quote that is so true. "Life is fragile handle with prayer." I am thankful for prayer! I am thankful that God answers prayer. We have relied on God and God always works!

Thursday evening and Friday morning I went shopping with my Morgan family. We had a good time and managed to find a few good deals and not get beat up or even get into a fight.

Papaw and I talked about God's goodness while enjoying frozen yogurt. Everyday is better when ice cream/ frozen yogurt is involved. It really helped us survive the Black Friday madness.

Have a fantastic weekend!

A Very Morgan Thanksgiving

City Reach Dayton

If you are in the Dayton area please come be with us Tuesday night at Dryden Rd. We will be having the Planning and Vision Service for City Reach Dayton. I will be preaching by God's grace and sharing my vision for City Reach with the churches from Dayton area. Everyone is welcome to attend. I would love for excitement to build for this City Reach next July.

Thanksgiving

Kelly Jo and Odie went down to Hillsboro on Wednesday to the Morgan ranch to help prepare for the big Morgan Thanksgiving extravaganza on Thursday.

I sure hope Odie did not prepare anything after what I see her buying below!

By the time I arrived late Thursday morning the ladies were putting everything in order and setting the table.

It was a table of food fit for a king! Once the prayer of Thanksgiving was offered my Kelly Jo's Dad, Danny, we dug right in and enjoyed every bite of it!

It was great to spend Thanksgiving Day with Kelly Jo's family. We spend a lot of Thanksgivings out of town eating in a Cracker Barrel so to be home this year is extra special. It was a very Morgan Thanksgiving. Thank God for all of His goodness.

We will celebrate Thanksgiving with my family Saturday evening by God's grace.

A Thankful Heart

A Pastor opened up a revival service for testimonies and his young son was one of the first to stand up. We could see the lump in the Pastor's throat and apprehension in his face as he wondered what his son would say. He was probably questioning his own decision to open up the floor to testimonies.

The young man said with complete sincerity, "I want to thank God for my family. We are not a perfect family, but we are a family."

I know the Pastor/Dad felt like crawling into the Bible stand as we all smiled politely and laughed like crazy inwardly. We all had a good tease and laugh about it later but it has become a common phrase in the BoggsMobile.

We will look at one another quite often and say, "We are not a perfect family, but we are family."

That pretty much sums us up. Even though we might like for the world around us to view us without all of our warts and other imperfections, the truth remains we are not perfect, we are not whole, we are not exactly what we planned to be by now. Yet we are thankful we are not what we use to be and certainly not as low down as we could be.

We are very thankful as a family that God has been so very good to us. That does not mean that everything is rosy or that we can even begin to understand some of the things that are going on around us. It simply means we are thankful for the place that God has brought us to at the moment in spite of what we think about the present circumstances.

We are thankful every day. We must be. When Paul describes the perilous times we live in, he includes two words grouped together; unthankful, unholy. I do not believe these words are placed side by side on accident. When we are unthankful, unholy will not be far behind.

So, we are thankful for all God has done every day. But today, we will be thankful on purpose. We will gather with family and formally praise God for all He has done the last year. We will praise Him for the good, the bad and the ugly. In everything we will do our best to give thanks!

One thing we will be praising God for is definitely on the good side of the ledger. Odie visited the neuro-ophthalmologist Wednesday for her periodic check-up since she woke up on April 13, 2014 completely blind in her left eye. Each visit since God began restoring her vision has been marked by progress and good news. It has been miraculous.

Yesterday the news was a tremendous continuation of her miracle. Odie's good eye is 20/20. The left eye, the eye that was blind had improved to 20/25 last summer. 20/25 was awesome after being completely blind but she is still getting better. Now the left eye is 20/20!  We praise God for helping and healing Odie!

May God help us all to find something or several somethings to thank God for today.

Thanks for reading and have a good Thanksgiving Day.

Salsa Anyone?

I can hear the question on the tip of everyone's tongue right now. "I wonder if the Boggs' have been to Acapulco since they have been in Ohio?"

My answer?
"Is the pope catholic?"
"Is the sky blue?"
"Is the sun still shining?"
"Is the earth still spinning?"
"Is the government still spending money?"
"Do turkeys gobble?"
"Does a one legged duck swim in circles?"

Of course we have eaten at Acapulco! We have been home over 48 hours, for goodness sake! In fact, we have visited Acapulco a few times in the last two days. We have pictures to prove it!

The first time we ate there Monday we met my Dad and Mom but failed to get a picture of the crowd. One evening we walked in and our good friends were waiting for a table. They asked us to join them and we were thrilled to do so. We love Bro. Keith and Sis. Jen and their family. All three of their kids have always been so precious and sweet!

We enjoyed another great meal and wonderful fellowship. It was a super evening with friends. Bro. Keith insisted on picking up the tab for dinner and we sure do appreciate it!

We did not get to go for lunch Tuesday. I had some dental work Tuesday morning and they had to numb both sides of my mouth. It was a challenge to talk, chew or swallow without making hamburger out of my tongue so I skipped lunch. No sense ripping open my jaw or tongue right before Thanksgiving dinner!

It has been good to see all my friends at Acapulco and to drink some of their award winning salsa! Wow! That stuff is good!

Hopefully I will have another dose of salsa today and then I will compromise and have some turkey on Thursday! I know that will be good too!

Thanks for reading.

AmazonSmile - Boggs Family Ministries

With Black Friday and Cyber Monday approaching, Odie thought it would be a good time to remind you that you can get the same low Amazon prices and yet help Boggs Family Ministries a little bit with each purchase.

I mentioned back in January you can go to smile.amazon.com and choose Boggs Family Ministries as your designated charity. You will be given an opportunity to search for a charity and you can search Boggs, Boggs Family or Boggs Family Ministries and Boggs Family Ministries Inc, Waynesville, Ohio will come up in the list. Then select it.

Caution: There is also a Bogg Ministries in Miamisburg, Ohio but that is not us.

Once you designate Boggs Family Ministries, 0.5% of your smile.amazon.compurchases will be donated to Boggs Family Ministries. You will be ordering from the same companies, receiving the same prices and the same service but you will be helping support Boggs Family Ministries. 0.5% is not much on a single purchase but if a bunch of people choose Boggs Family Ministries for their designated charity and then do their normal Amazon purchases through smile.amazon.com, 0.5% would certainly add up after a while.

Afterward if you continue to shop through your regular Amazon link then the ministry will not receive the 0.5%. You must change your Amazon link and do your shopping through smile.amazon.com in order for it to work correctly.

Thank you,

Davy, Kelly and Odie
