A Weekend Woundup and Weview May 4th

Our weekend started Thursday night for us and it sure seems like we jammed a bunch of stuff into three days. The first picture is the BoggsMobile at Trinity in Central City, Kentucky.

Right before church I cranked it up and moved it into position to leave easily after service. I also hooked up the Green Machine so we would be ready to roll. Pastor Alan Harris took this picture before church.

We pulled out of the church about 9:45 Thursday night and made a nice smooth trip to East Tennessee Luxury Coach in Vonore, Tennessee. We pulled in right at 3:00 AM which was then 4:00 AM in Vonore. It was 312 miles from Central City, Kentucky to Vonore, Tennessee. The weather was nice, the traffic was light and the BoggsMobile was ready to run.

I slept a few hours on the couch and then I moseyed outside to see when Mr. Jeff Rowe wanted me to pull into his shop. His tire guys were there so I had them replace a valve core in the valve stem of one of my tires. It would sometimes leak when I removed the tire pressure monitors. The old core was corroded on the end but everything seems fine now.

Next I pulled into the shop for a couple of other items.

They replaced the chains on the tag and adjusted the length of them until they are now just right.

Then they replaced the coils on the leveling system.

I pulled out of the shop about 5:00 PM and hooked up the car and prepared to roll.

I knew that Knoxville traffic would be a mess at rush hour on Friday so we stopped at a Ryan's up the road and ate while every one around Knoxville made a mad dash for home. I was pretty tired from our overnight drive and the day in the shop so I intended to only drive a little pass Knoxville. Once we sailed through town I was feeling so good that we kept right on driving until a few minutes after 10:00 PM.

We stopped for the night at the Flying J in Wytheville, Virginia after 222 miles.

Since we only had about 180 miles to go we were in no hurry to finish the drive Saturday. I let the girls rest a while in the morning and then we left about 11:00 AM. Here we are at a rest area on I-81 near the turn off to Elkton.

We arrived in beautiful Elkton, Virginia at Bible Holiness Church a little after 2:00. This is a gorgeous place and the church sits on a hill with a great view of the beauty. We love these mountains!

Sunday morning was bright and sunny.

We started revival Sunday morning with Pastor Brent Gabbard and all the folks at Bible Holiness Church.

Then it was time for the Homecoming meal and what a meal it was!

Sunday Homecoming service at 2:00 was excellent.

We are thrilled to be in Elkton, Virginia for Homecoming revival and we are expecting God to help us all. We have already had a great weekend and we can not wait to see what the week will bring.

God bless you all.

View Out The Front Window May 3, 2015

Check out our posts from this last week at the links below.

When we stopped in Vonore, Tennessee Friday it was 4:00 AM and I forgot to snap a picture out the window. I did get a picture of the BoggsMobile while it was in the shop later that morning.

We spent Friday night at Flying J on I-81, Exit 77 near Wytheville, Virginia. Here is the view out the front window there.

We are now in Elkton, Virginia at Bible Holiness Church. This is the view out the front window.

This is the view out the front door.

Today is Homecoming at Bible Holiness Church in Elkton, Virginia. Services are at 10:00 and 2:00 with Homecoming dinner in between. We are very glad to be here singing and preaching for Pastor Brent Gabbard and all of the fine folks at Bible Holiness. We are expecting the Lord to meet with us in a mighty way today and all of this week.

I hope you all have a great Sunday.

Cherishing Friends

Hey Friends,

This is Odie writing to you from the interstate.  The BoggsMobile is headed toward Virginia. We have reached another weekend. I hope you had a smooth week. We greatly enjoyed our week at Trinity Pentecostal Church in Central City, Kentucky. We always have a blast with Bro. Alan and Sis. Tammy Harris. They are superb friends!

I want to thank you for your positive feedback from last Saturday's post. Your comments and texts are so appreciated. It is nice to know you are reading.

If you are in the Elkton, Virginia vicinity come see us this week at Bible Holiness Church. Homecoming is scheduled for 2:00 PM tomorrow afternoon. Then revival will follow Monday - Friday. We are anticipating a great week with Pastor Brent Gabbard and family.

Dad already mentioned we had a surprise visit this week from the Martin Family. They are always a huge blessing, and this week was no exception. It was so good to see them and to have them in service with us. They were a great blessing in the service and to us personally.

Monday night while getting ready for church I told Mom, "It would be awesome if the Martins would surprise us".  I knew they were not super far away, in an evangelist's thinking. I also know that time off is a precious thing so I did not even suggest to them that they should stop by our revival. Well, while I was rolling into church Monday night the Martin Family pulled into the parking lot. I was shocked and excited to be with my friends.

These are friends to cherish forever. I remember admiring their family from a distance for several years. I am so very thankful the Lord brought us together as closer friends. God places people in our path for a reason. I am grateful He put us in contact with this amazing family. They are a godly example I can look up to.

They have suffered a hard blow in the last several months by losing Sis. Martin but God is helping them. They are a great example to me and many others in all of this.

Do we understand everything? NO WAY!  Do we have to give up when we hit what feels like a brick wall? NO, we keep following God. His ways are higher than our ways. Are some days harder to face than others? The answer will always be, YES! Do we have to hide our troubles from others? NOT CONSTANTLY, God gives us friends to encourage us along the journey. There is life beyond the hard times!

Have a wonderful weekend. I pray the Lord blesses and strengthens everyone.

Below I am re-posting some pics of our fun times with the Martin Family this week. Check out all of our Central City, Kentucky pictures in Thursday's post
