Taking the Tent Down In Springville, Indiana

I appreciate Odie posting for me yesterday. I am staying pretty busy in Tennessee so her post was a big help. Mr. Jeff Rowe and his guys worked on the BoggsMobile all day again Wednesday. They are pretty close to wrapping the work up. They worked until about 6:30 last night and then I pulled the bus outside for the night. They lock the gates when they leave so it very peaceful at night.

Odie told you I went to Knoxville to see Pastor Herman Woods in the hospital Tuesday. I went back up Wednesday. It was good to see Bro. Herman and Sis. Margaret. They said it is amazing how much progress Bro. Herman has made and the Dr. said he should only be in rehab for about another week. Please continue to pray for them. I am believing that Bro. Herman will be able to preach again soon.

When I wrap up here in Tennessee I will write a comprehensive post about the work being done on the BoggsMobile with lots of pictures. Odie had sent in some pictures of the tent coming down last week and I have been meaning to post them. Today seems like a good day to do that.

We ended tent revival in Springville, Indiana last Friday night. We sure enjoyed joining with Pastor Dallas Lakes and the Tunnel Hill Church to reach out to the Springville community. I know that God will honor their efforts.

From the time we said "Amen" until everything was strapped down and ready to ride was only about 50 minutes. That included taking down the PA system, lights and wires, folding the shares, stacking them in the trailer and strapping them down, disassembling the platform and removing it, laying down the big plastic sheets to protect the tent from the gravel parking lot and then folding the plastic back up, taking down the tent and folding it up, removing the stakes, removing and folding the ratchet straps loading the tent, poles, straps in the trailer, loading the PA system in the bus and about 50 other things I have forgotten.

All that in 50 minutes. The Tunnel Hill folks like to work! We also had some visitors that night and they jumped in and helped too. That was very nice.

Odie snapped a few pictures of the tent coming down and the folks working. I will let you see those now. God bless you for reading.

Zoo Trip in Omaha, Nebraska Part 2

Hey, all, it is Odie again. Do not pass out since I am posting twice in less than a week. Dad is pretty busy in Tennessee with the bus work so I am filling in today. They are right on schedule with the BoggsMobile and dad says all is well.

Last night he drove up to the hospital to see Pastor Herman Woods. Bro. Herman is in rehab from a stroke and is really gaining ground fast. Dad was so glad to finally see him and some of the family. He loves Bro. Herman like a dad and has been wanting to get to Tennessee for four weeks. Dad said Bro. Herman is so much stronger and doing so much better but has a ways to go. Thank the Lord for helping. Please keep praying for Bro. Herman and Sis. Margaret and their family.

Mom and I are getting to spend some time with family this week in Ohio due to our schedule change. We are always grateful for a chance to be home. We are visiting some, shopping some and eating some. We are having good times for sure!

I promised the pictures from my good camera from our visit to the Omaha Zoo. Here they are. Thanks again to Sis. Alma DiMinico for a great day in the wild kingdom of Omaha! We had a wonderful visit.

Mom took all of these with my Cannon Digital Rebel XTI. I will let you enjoy the pictures.

Travel Day and Bro. Shobanke

Monday was a travel day. I left Dodds church near Waynesville in the BoggsMobile about 12:15 PM. I was hoping I would have time to stop at Acapulco for lunch before leaving but that did not happen. That is OK, I will be back soon. I stayed on the road most of the time only stopping twice. I stopped at a rest area near Lexington, KY and then to get fuel on the south side of Jellico Mountain in Tennessee.

Traffic was heavy from Waynesville to south of Cincinnati then really heavy again in Knoxville. Most of the rest of the day the traffic was light to moderate. Not too bad to travel at all. I pulled into Vonore, Tennessee about 6:20 a little over 325 miles later.

After getting unhooked and parked and catching my breath I gave the BoggsMobile a good scrubbing. It needed it very badly. I drove in the rain two weeks in a row but then both times I parked on gravel/dirt and I could not wash the bus. Washing it on gravel/dirt makes a mud puddle and then everything is worse.

I am parked on pavement here and close to the water spigot so a bath was in order.

I should pull into the shop first thing this morning.

I mentioned in February in THIS POST about trying to help finish Pastor Stephen Kuye's church in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. We have not been able to save much of the money needed but we have been able to save some. Some of you sent some for the church and we appreciate that as well. I was hoping to have it all while Bro. Shobanke is in the states but we are planning to go to Nigeria in December so maybe we can take more then.

The amount we had for the church we sent to Bro. Shobanke yesterday along with some money to help pay the principals salary at the Christian school and a little for Bro. Shobanke. Pastor Stacy Holden from Shreveport, LA called today to tell me they are trying to help Bro. Shobanke buy a church van and a car. Bro. Shobanke told me he had money set aside for those two needs and some of the brothers in Bro. Holden's area are going to help raise the rest.

If you would like to help with that let me know.

God bless you all.

Travel Days, Isaacs and A Great Sunday

Saturday morning started pretty early. Somebody else had the old Springville gym rented and I needed to get the trailer and BoggsMobile out of the way before they were boxed in. Pastor Lakes helped me get the trailer into position and then Kelly Jo helped me get it all hooked up and away we went.

Since we were not going directly toward Tennessee for revival I was unsure which direction to go. However I knew the Isaacs were in Richmond Saturday night and we really wanted to go there. It is hard to make plans until the tent is down and packed away dry but since all that was taken care of Friday night I pointed the BoggsMobile toward Richmond, Indiana.

We stopped at Flying J in Indianapolis to empty the holding tanks and then hopped on I-70 east bound. We only went a few miles and saw signs warning us that all eastbound lanes were closed due to an accident. We scoped out the best route around and turned off the interstate. It was very slow going because of heavy traffic plus it had some very tight turns and construction. All the trucks were with us so we were not the only ones taking it easy through the turns and lane closures on the detour route.

We lost at least an hour but we still made it to Richmond in time to eat a late lunch with friends and family. We had a wonderful meal and visit at Frisch's then we rush backed to the BoggsMobile to get ready for the evening. We really enjoyed the Isaacs Saturday night. It was so much fun. I posted a short clip of them yesterday.

I planned to drive toward home afterward but honestly after tent revival and taking down the tent Friday night I was spent. We were comfortable where we were parked at the truck stop so we just went to bed. I planned to get up Sunday morning and mosey into Ohio. But I did NOT plan to get up at 5:20 AM. So much for sleeping in! I got up and studied and prepared for preaching as I normally do on Sunday morning but I did let the girls rest some.

We are dropping the trailer in Ohio for three weeks. Our next tent revival is scheduled for Goshen, Ohio the 4th Sunday in June. After the trailer was in place and the Green Machine unloaded we went to Acapulco for lunch with my parents, Steve, Karen, Deidre, Cousin Lisa and Baby Lauren. Wow! Have I ever mentioned how good the salsa is at Acapulco? Man Alive! That stuff is good enough to drink.

Sunday night I was preaching at Corwin Pentecostal Church. I was not sure what to do but after wrestling with it for a while on Saturday I decided to go to Corwin. We were just there several weeks ago for a service but I felt like we needed to be there Sunday night. Pastor Acy Lamb has propped the door wide open for us and I really do appreciate that.

As it turns out, we had a wonderful altar service. I believe that God spoke to us during the preaching and the folks really responded well. I appreciate them responding to us and to God's spirit.

We also happened to be there on Pastor Acy Lamb's 73rd birthday. Happy Birthday, Bro. Acy!

We were blessed to see some old friends at Corwin Sunday night. Bro. James and Sis. Tara McCoy and their family were there. It has been many years since we have seen the whole family together.

Sis. Tara was raised in the Corwin church but they have lived away for most of their adult lives. Bro. James and Sis. Tara are pioneering a holiness church in Castle Rock, Colorado which is a southern suburb of Denver. It was super great to see them and we will certainly be praying for Liberty Holiness Tabernacle. We wholeheartedly believe in the need for new churches and love to help them when we can.

That was our weekend. Today I plan to leave for Vonore, Tennessee. I am taking the bus for some work that I had schedule to coincide with revival at Beechfork. Revival has been canceled due to Pastor Herman Woods being in rehab because of a stroke. But the work on the BoggsMobile still needs to be completed. I am sure that will take up the bulk of my posts here the next few days.

I hope you had a great Sunday. I will leave you with a picture taken by Sis. Crystal Lamb Sunday night. She was kind enough to share it with us.

View Out The Front Window 6/1/2014

We saw the Isaacs last night in Indiana. Odie has lots of pictures to post later. Everything they sang was fantastic. It was very special to hear them sing their new single I Wanna Be There. I told you about this song last fall. I recorded a small clip of it on my phone. I hope it comes through.

Thanks Aunt Lily, Ben Sonya and Becky for making it such a special night for Odie and for us. We love you all very, very much.

The Isaacs are traveling to Israel Wednesday. Pray for them as they travel. It would be awesome to go with them to Israel again some time.

Now it is time for our normal Sunday post. God bless you all. Have a great Sunday.

Davy

This is our view out the front window in Springville, Indiana. We were parked by the gym of the old Springville school.

This is taken out the front door.
