A Wonderful Wednesday in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Wednesday was quite different from the day before. I started working on Tent Revival stuff in the morning but left it to go to lunch and never returned to it. It was a complete goof off day and I loved it.

Bro. Terry and Sis. Sherri Bowling invited us to lunch so we met them Tuesday at O'Charley's just down the road from the RV park we are in. We had a great meal and wonderful fellowship. Bro. and Sis. Bowling stay on the road preaching the Gospel as we do. They have been faithful evangelists for many, many years. It was our privilege to visit with them.

The parking lot of O'Charley's is very steep. Here is Odie freewheeling toward the parkway. "Look, Mom, no hands!"

(NO Odie's were harmed in the making of this picture. Her brakes were firmly set and Kelly Jo is just out of the picture ready to catch her if the brakes fail.)

Then we spent a couple of hours driving around in some of our favorite places in the area. It would take days to drive to all of our favorite areas but we did hit some highlights. THE highlight is "Our Place" on Bluff Mountain. It is the perfect home site up on the mountain that Kelly Jo and I discovered several years ago while driving around in Mr. Cheap Jeep.

It is situated where no one could ever build below you and block your view and no one could ever build immediately above you and look down on your house. It even has a little level ground. It would be a bear to get home with snow on the ground but those are the days when you stay home!

It is not really "Our Place" and we have never seen it listed for sale but a guy and gal can dream can't they?

After we got back to the BoggsMobile I sat down in a chair outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather for a few hours. It was a gorgeous, slow afternoon that slipped through my fingers one moment at a time.

When I needed a snack Kelly Jo brought me a bowl of Kellogg's Raisin Bran Crunch with fresh strawberries from Plant City, Florida. Wow! Those Plant City strawberries are the best. Pastor Marshall Adcock passed part of his abundant blessing on to us last week and I sure am thankful. They are all gone now, Bro. Marshall!

The Millikin's made it in and set up just before dark. They had a super long day of traveling. When they were ready we all went for Mexican at No Way Jose's and enjoyed good food and fellowship again. We were seated right next to Bro. and Sis. Ralston and some of their folks from Savanna. It was great to see all of them too. The folks are gathering in.

Rumor has it that Mr. Anonymous from Mississippi is here hiking trails and climbing mountains. I hope he comes down long enough for us to get to see him and his family.

That was our Wednesday.

Bungee Jumping In Pigeon Forge

I had a little fun yesterday for April Fool's Day. Can you believe that's me Bungee Jumping in the picture below?

(Nope, that's not me. That is Zack Conner.)

Tuesday was an absolutely beautiful day in east Tennessee. The sky was clear, the temperature was warm and the sun was bright. Every day should be just like this!

Tuesday was really our first whole day off of the year except for a few unexpected snow days when we were not able to have church. Tuesday I had no driving to do, no preaching or singing to do and I ignored all the bus projects calling my name. I spent the day taking care of some correspondence and research concerning future tent revivals. With nothing else pressing me I really got a lot completed on my day off. Today I hope to do more of the same.

Kelly Jo and Odie shopped a little in the late afternoon and then we met Bro. and Sis. Gautreaux for a late supper. They are here a little early for PFYC along with about 500 other people we know. Odie is trying to take pictures of all the folks that we visit with Before the conference even starts. She should have quite a few pictures. We had supper Monday night with the Conners from Tulsa.

Thank you for praying for my good friend, Pastor Scott Morris. God has really given him and his family a miracle this week. The Doctor was sure there was a bad blockage and he was very near a full fledged heart attack Saturday night. The heart cath Monday showed only a 30-40% blockage in one artery. (Not enough to justify a stint according to the Dr.) They did a chemical stress test Tuesday and his heart looks great. We know God has been working for Bro. Scott to be so much improved. Praise God! This whole situation could have turned out much, much worse if not for the hand of the Lord.

I hope you have a super great day. Thanks for reading.

Chill Yogurt

Hey friends, it's Odie here today.  I hope you are having wonderful week.  We drove back from Virginia Monday and we are enjoying a few days here in Tennessee before PFYC starts. Dad was very glad to get back to the BoggsMobile.

Already we have crossed paths with several of our friends.  I am sure we will see many more as the week progresses especially since a few thousand people we know will be gathering here by the Friday. I am getting excited.

Even though I posted some or most of the pictures below during Allentown I was having fun looking at these pictures again on my phone the other day. I thought I would post them again with a short version of the story behind them.

Back in March I was craving ice cream Mom and I decided to try Chill. It is self serve frozen yogurt sold by the ounce. Most of the yogurt is low fat so I was happy!!  Oh my goodness they offer so many yummy flavors. I LOVE all the bright colors in the restaurant I was very hyper while in the store. Mom said I need to eat my yogurt for a"Chill Pill".

During Allentown the yogurt craving came back. I found a Chill close by in Semmes, Alabama. This time we were joined by Julie and Jalisa Martin. Before it was over several friends were there enjoying the deliciousness.  We had a wonderful visit with all our friends in a bright cheery place eating tasty frozen yogurt. It does not get much better than that.

Well, I better go before I drool all over my iPad.
