Revival In Pictures - Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

I am posting several pictures from our revival at South Mission Holiness Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. We have had lots of fellowship this week and we appreciate it very much. Friday night is youth Rally here and we should have a packed out house for that. I will try to post pictures of that next week.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.

These Carne Asada Tacos are from La Reyna on 71st street. Bro. Trevor Metheny went and got them for us for lunch on Thursday. They were awesome!

Thursday February 6, 2014

We are having wonderful services at South Mission with Pastor Leon Rich and his folks. God has visited us every night and Wednesday was especially good. It is amazing that God is so mindful of His people and their needs. Praise God for His wonderful works to the children of men. We have two more services in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and we are expecting more great things.

The Millikin family had some great news on Wednesday. Sis. Millikin was had another surgery in Tulsa and everything went really well. As far as the doctors can see right now she is cancer free and should be well enough to go home and heal up in a few days. Praise God for a good report. After all the Millikin family has been through the last year the good news was refreshing.

The weather has been cold every where, even for our friends in the south. Pastor Kenny Morris and his church in Ellisville, Mississippi had a pipe freeze during the bad cold snap last week. It thawed and burst sometime during the evening or night Friday. By the time they found it Saturday the church was flooded.

The church folks worked for hours before the professionals arrived and finished drying things out. Hopefully they will be able to get all of the moisture out without any lasting damage. Stuff like that is always discouraging but Bro. Morris and his folks are taking it well. Please pray that God turns it all for good.

We are in the midst of a deep freeze right now. The wind chill is already considerably below freezing and the real temperature is supposed to go down to 7 by Thursday morning. It will be Friday evening before we have any chance of getting above freezing and then it is only forecast to be 33. Have I mentioned on the blog that I am kind of tired of all this super cold weather?

Think warm for us!

Use What You Have

Did I ever show you this picture?

I took this picture in a gas station restroom some where in California last summer. Yes, this is a battery operated toilet bowl brush. Only in America can we be so pampered and lazy that we can not take 60 seconds to swirl the brush around the bowl using our own power.

Evidently I have been missing a whole industry. I Googled "battery operated toilet brush" and was amazed at all of the options and models available. Who knew? What convenience and ability right in the power of your little fingers. Push the trigger and watch those stains disappear right before your eyes.

You want to know something else? I was very careful when taking the picture above NOT to include the toilet or much of the bathroom. You know why? It was one of the filthiest gas station bathrooms I have ever been in. It was super duper nasty.

A deluxe turbo powered gasoline toilet brush with sixteen state of the art rotating cleaning heads will not do one ounce of good if nobody uses it to clean the toilet. You must use what you have.

There is a lesson in there some where but I think I will stop before my analogy breaks down.

A Snow Day In Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

Sunday was a wild weather day. One hour and 10 minutes before the three pictures below there was not one snow flake on the ground. When it started coming down it really started coming down!

Here's Kelly Jo and Odie loading up to go to church. Although we are parked on the church property it was easier to take the Green Machine than to push Odie in the wheel chair on the snowy street.

We were able to have church Sunday morning but the roads that had not been cleaned well during the day were frozen Sunday evening.

Although not everybody was able to make it to church Sunday morning we did have a very good service. We even had some visitors from California. That's not too bad for a cold snowy day. The folks at South Mission are hungry for revival so hopefully we will be able to pick back up tonight.

By the time church was over Sunday morning the snow was still piling up.

There was a spot with no snow where the Green Machine had been parked but there was no sign of that spot after church. It has been a while since I have seen snow come down that quick.

We had a great Mexican meal with Pastor Leon Rich, his family, some of the church folks and the visitors from California. We spent the afternoon and evening in the BoggsMobile relaxing and reading. Although it is cold and getting colder we are cozy warm inside.

We really only got the northern edge of the storm so it was quite a bit worse just south of here. The weather guessers are calling for more snow later in the week but I hope it misses us altogether.

I hope you had a great weekend.

Swimming iPhone and Sweet Friends

Hello friends! Odie checking in with you again this Saturday. I am super thankful I still have a phone to blog on. You see my phone took a swim in the porcelain lake last Friday.

It was a baby heart attack moment for me!  I quickly ended the swim. My friend Kaylynn took it and dried the water. Then she blew lots of water from my phone. Thankfully my phone never quit working.

Me and Kaylynn

Saturday morning while texting I realized my screen was was shaded with water damage. On Apple forums I read  the following post.

"I wanted to share my damaged iphone experience and offer a tip to help remove water marks from screen after exposing your iphone to excessive moisture. I was lucky enough to having my phone still operational after the water issue but had screen markings / dark spots from water.  I was caught in a rain storm and ended up getting soaked, including my pockets which was where my phone was located. I decided to compile a few ideas I found online in 1 recommended tip. If your phone is not operational, you may just want to bag the phone in rice while powered off for a few days. This is for those people with water marks beneath the screen but phone is still working otherwise"
1. Go to settings>general>auto-lock and select 'never'
2. Go to settings>brightnes & wallpaper & select auto-brightness 'off', then set brightness level to max!
3. Connect charging cable and place phone in a bag or container completely submerged in instant rice (uncle bens worked for me)
4. Allow a day or two of this drying out to occur and observe how the stains start changing and disappearing!
I was amazed that this actually worked! The rice helped to pull the moisture out of the phone and the screen,  being on , helped to generate enough heat which helped it dry out quicker. Definitely give this a try before spending up to $200 in insurance deductibles for a refurbished phone."

We did not have rice on hand so it was Saturday evening before I got rice. After leaving it in rice 36 hours the shadow was almost gone completely. Now I can barely see in 2 spots where the water had been.  If you ever have this horrible experience I recommend this method of drying your phone out.

Now to more exciting things. Wednesday afternoon I had the privilege to be in chapel service at Faith Christian Academy. It was great to be with their wonderful students. I remember when most of the kids were born. They are precious children! During revival and chapel these kids were seeking more of God. It is encouraging to see them in the altars.

Here are pictures from chapel service. Have a wonderful weekend.
