Travel Day - Claremore, OK - West Plains, MO

Before we get to the travel update Odie has a few more pictures from our week at Claremore, Oklahoma.

Yes, we will.

We ate Mexican food at Los Cabos Thursday night with the Henegars and Millikins. It was so good. I ordered the chicken fajitas and Kelly Jo ordered the vegetable fajitas and we mixed them. Wow! What a combination. We really enjoyed the fellowship as much as the food.

Then we ate Mexican again Friday for lunch with the Millikins. We love the salsa at Los Aztecas in Claremore. It is not quite as good as the salsa at Acapulco in Lebanon, Ohio but it is still very good in our opinion.

We hated to leave Bro. Jimmy and Sis. Shauna and their precious family but Friday was the day we had to do it. We enjoyed one last meal with them and we were plotting when our paths will cross again. We will be right back in this area for a few weeks soon so hopefully we will be blessed to spend some more time with our dear friends. Continue to pray for the Millikins and the Westside Holiness Church.

We had planned to leave Saturday but there was a possibility of bad weather Saturday so we decided to get out while the getting was good. After lunch I warmed up the engine coolant, cranked the BoggsMobile, hooked up the Green Machine and hit the road about 2:00. We drove about 280 miles and we were pulling into Junction Hill Pentecostal Church by about 6:40.

It was a nice sunny day to travel but it was very, very windy. It bounced us around pretty much the whole trip. Even with both hands on the wheel the wind was jerking us around quite a bit. I would rather drive in wind than snow or ice though.

By coming to West Plains I think we jumped out the ice box and into the FREEZER. The forecast here this next week is not for summer weather at all. Snow Saturday night, snow Sunday, low temperature of -3 Sunday night, high of 10 Monday and the list goes on. Summer is officially over.

We are excited to be back with Pastor Dwain Galiher and the great folks at Junction Hill. We have been here several times through the years and we are always blessed in the services. We are looking forward to seeing what the Lord will do in this revival. It would be nice to start the year with about a dozen people getting saved!

God bless you all for reading. I hope you have a great weekend.

Another Day In Oklahoma

I have had a lot of comments in times past in reference to our year in review posts. I think I skipped it in 2012 but I did get around to it for 2013. I have linked to that post above. I hope you enjoy the maps and summary of our travels.

The New Year is officially off and running and winter has set in with a vengeance. These pictures at Westside in Claremore were taken Monday when it was about 35 degrees and sunny.

Tuesday was in the 50's with sun and wind. Wednesday was in the 50's as well but started dropping fast. This morning (Thursday) it was 11 and felt like 3! That is way too cold for me. We also have a little dusting of snow but at least the sun is shining.

I have some semi critical bus projects going on but the cold has brought a stop to all of that. We will just tough it out until it gets warm enough to survive outside. The best place to be right now is under the flannel sheets with the heat on high. Did I mention that it is cold?

We had a good service last night here at Westside Holiness Church in Claremore. Pastor Darrell Meadow and his folks have been so very good to us through the years. We always enjoy being here visiting with friends and feeling the presence of the Lord. Last night the worship service was great. I know that God was near us. The preaching was not everything I wanted it to be but I tried my best. I am trusting God to give the increase.

We have been receiving New Year's greetings from across the country the last 36 hours. Bro. Shobanke just called me from Nigeria to pray for me as we begin 2014. His prayer was for more grace and more anointing. I say a hearty AMEN to that. I do desire more grace and more anointing. I am going to believe God to gratn that request. May God bless each of our friends around the world and may He bring us face to face with as many of you as possible this year.

Until next time...

Davy

First Day of 2014

I hope 2014 is off to a good start for you. We have had a great day so far and we are expecting a good service at Westside Holiness Church tonight. It would be wonderful to be wrapped up in the Spirit of the Lord the very first night of the year.

Bro. Marty Millikin's funeral was beautiful yesterday. The singing and the music was outstanding just like Bro. Marty loved singing and music to be. Bro. Jimmy had several of Bro. Marty's family and friends singing and playing songs that Bro. Marty loved to hear. It really was touching all the way through the service.

Bro. Joey Hight, Bro. Jimmy Millikin and Pastor Darrell Meadow were all tremendous in the things they had to say. God used each of them in a special way to minister to the family and friends that had gathered. Bro. Marty lived with such character and Godliness that nobody had to struggle for good things to say. The whole day was a fitting tribute to a very good man that we will all miss very much.

There were hundreds of people that came from all over the country for Bro. Marty's visitation and funeral. There were people from California and people from Maine and there were many from all points in between. Every one of them was a testimony to the impact the Millikin family has had on churches and individuals all over America. I was thrilled to see them all come together to celebrate such a life.

Last night and today we have been visiting with the Millikin's and their family and friends. It has been a joy to meet folks that Bro. Jimmy and Bro. Marty have been telling us about for years. We have really enjoyed meeting some of the folks from Maine. They certainly love the Millikin family.

We plan to stay here in Claremore until Friday or Saturday helping any way we can and then we will mosey toward our next revival near West Plains, Missouri. After that revival we will be right back in this general area for a few weeks by God's grace.

Pastor Meadow asked me to be prepared to preach tonight so please pray that God will speak through me in this service. Every service is very important but this one seems especially so. Thank you.

God bless you every one.
