Oops! Schedule Change!

We have had a couple of changes in our schedule this week. My Dad received word yesterday that surgery has been scheduled for April 30th. He was hoping to have this way behind him by now but he is glad to have a date marked on the calendar.

We will now be going home to Ohio that week rather than Tennessee and Virginia. We will play it by ear once the surgery is completed and then leave home accordingly. Thank you all so much for praying for my Dad. I receive texts and emails almost daily letting me know you are holding him up in prayer. God bless you for that. Please keep it up.

The second schedule change is concerning Tent Revival in Montana.

One of the highlights of our year in 2012 was the Tent Revival with the Sun Valley Church near Florence, Montana. It was a super pleasure and honor to work with Bro. Metzger, his family and church and the visitors that came from out of state. God certainly blessed in the services and honored the church for their hard work and sacrifice. As I said, it was a highlight of the year for our family.

You can tell by the smile on Kelly Jo's face that she loves Montana!

You can see all kinds of pictures from the Montana Tent Revival in the Blog Archive at the right under July 2012. HERE are just a few of them.

Pastor Mike Metzger and the Sun Valley Church asked us last year to save a spot in July of 2013 for another tent revival. We were thrilled to do so. However as I mentioned in a post about tent revivals back in March, "Of course all of this is subject to change. I have learned that you can not chisel tent revival dates in stone. There are just too many variables."

How true that statement is. Sadly for all of us, Bro. Metzger and the Sun Valley Church are not going to be able to host Tent Revival in 2013. Bro. Metzger called me just last week to talk it over and I wanted to let you all know about the change in plans just in case you were planning to join us in Montana in July.

Those of you that are long time readers already know how much we love the Metzgers and the Sun Valley Church. They have become much more than friends to the Boggs family. They have adopted us into their own families and into their church. We love and appreciate them so much and we look forward to the next time we are blessed to see them.

We still have tentative plans to be in North Dakota some time in July but those dates and places are still not confirmed. You can always check our schedule HERE for the latest updates.

Third change?  Mexico!

We are also in the process of planning a Tent Revival in Mexico at the invitation of our good friend, Bro. Larry Landress. He wants us to come to Chiapas in December and we sure would like to do it. Chiapas is a southern state of Mexico on the Pacific side. Help us pray about this opportunity to preach under a tent in Mexico for Bro. Landress.

We had another good service last night under the tent in Citronelle. The weather has been so good the last two days but rain has set in today. It is cool this morning and it is suppose to rain all of today and tomorrow but then clear up the rest of the week. I will probably have all of the side walls up tonight for service. I hate to close the tent in but it is the only way to make it comfortable in this kind of weather. God certainly knows what is best.

Update: Bro. Cunningham and Bro. Templeton have decided to cancel service under the tent tonight because of the cold, rain and wind. Wind is supposed to be gusting 35 to 45 MPH this afternoon.

Thank you for praying for us.

Praying for Miracles

A note from Odie:

Hello!! I hope you all are having a wonderful week so far. Tent revival is going good. Monday night was great. The weather was perfect for service under the tent. I hope we have a lot more nights just like that one over the next several months

We had several friends visiting revival Monday. It was so nice to see everyone. It is always a joy when our friends come to see us. Dad especially appreciates the preachers that come and help him preach!

I have a few prayer requests for you today. It seems everywhere you look sickness abounds. We have many friends and family members needing God to move in the lives. We know He is able to do it and we believe He hears and answers prayer.

I know we ask our readers to pray for a lot of people you have never met. Thank you for your prayers. I know for a fact that it works! Here are a few needs that are special to me right now.

My Papaw Eugene Boggs still has cancer. They have finally scheduled his surgery for April 30.  Please pray for both my Mamaw and Papaw as they go through this tough time! Pray that the surgery goes as planned and that my Papaw recovers amazingly quick and well.

Annette Cook is my Dad 1st cousin and she is is in desperate need of a miracle. She has had a long battle with cancer. I know God is able to heal her completely!!! Annette and Dad are just 2 months apart in age. They went to school together all the way through. We love Annette and Heath Cook. We have not been with them much in recent years but they are precious people.

Lisa Isaacs is another one of Dads many 1st cousins on the Isaacs side of the family. Regular readers know Lisa is a special lady. She went with me on the Gospel singing cruise last year. Not long after our trip, Lisa started battling sickness. Doctors have treated many things. Yet she still suffers terribly with pain. Nothing seems to cure all of he symptoms. Please join us in praying for Lisa's healing!!

I think Dad mentioned the other day that Bro. Kenny Morris' Dad is in the hospital and is very, very low. It does not look like he is going to pull through so Bro. Kenny, Bro. Scott, Bro. Jason and Bro. Timmy and all of their family needs God to help them. Bro. Sime Morris has been a man of God all of his life. He and is dear wife have been faithful to God and to the ministry. Please help us pray for them.

Update: Bro. Sime Morris slipped into Heaven about a little after 9:00 this evening. The place he has preached about and lived for all of his life is now his home. Thank you for praying. Please continue to pray for his precious wife and family.

Thank you again for your prayers and concern for loved ones that are dear to me. I appreciate all of you!

First Night of Tent Revival In Citronelle, Alabama

Post from Sunday Night
Post from Sunday Morning
Post From Saturday Night.

Well, it was raining cats and dogs for most of the first night of Tent Revival Sunday in Citronelle. The rain probably kept visitors from the community away but we did have a great crowd from the two churches sponsoring the revival. I appreciate the Whatley church and the Cedar Creek church for coming in spite of the weather. It is a witness to their desire for revival and it was a big boost for me personally.

They also participated great in the prayer line/altar service. Bro. Darius was running the service tonight and he turned it over to me quickly and I tried to keep our part as short as possible as well. I was purposely mindful of the discomfort of the rain and wind. Yet everybody came to the front in response to the preaching and the Lord touched several. Praise God for that.

I am so thrilled to be working with these two churches together. I love that two churches in one community can come together, work together and give together with a common goal to reach the lost and hurting in Citronelle. I commend Pastor Cunningham and Pastor Templeton and their congregations for sharing the burden and hosting tent revival. I know that God will bless that!

Please keep praying for the tent revival. Pray that God will give us the exact weather that we need and send the right people into our path this week. We have already had several folks stop and promise to attend the services and we are asking God to clear the way for them to come under the Gospel tent and find what they need from God. Pray that God will cover me with the Holy Ghost and use me to preach and reach like I need too.

Come and see us if you can.

Davy
