Wild Game Supper - Ellisville, Mississippi

Make sure you read the update on Bro. Marty Millikin from yesterday.

Friday we made the short trip to Ellisville, parked the BoggsMobile and worked on our appetites for the Wild Game Supper. The event was a fund raiser for the Christian school at First Assembly and it was a great success. The weather was rainy and very stormy but the people came anyway. The tables were loaded down with all sorts of wild game and lots of other food and everybody had plenty to choose from.

Everything I ate was very good. Some folks refuse to eat anything wild but nothing tasted or smelled bad or wild at all. Two of the new foods that I tried were beaver and nutria. I will let you Google nutria for yourself. It was fine and tasted like chicken, of course.

We have had alligator several times but it has never been as good as the first time when John Brown fried it for us fresh in Florida in 1993. Last night it was that good or better. I could not keep my hands out of it as they were frying it but the grilled was excellent too.

Pastor Kenny Morris, Andy Stringfellow the school administrator and many of the folks worked so hard to put on this supper. The men have been hunting and trapping and several men and women cooked all day Friday. All their hard work paid off. I would say it was a great success.

I appreciate them inviting us to be here for it and I am glad we could arrange it. We had great food and wonderful fellowship too. Odie stayed in Richton and rode up to Ellisville with Bro. Scott and Sis. Kim. After the supper Bro. Scott carried all of my sound equipment into the church and had it all set up before I knew anything about it. All I had to do was sound check. Bro. Scott is a real "holy roadie!" Thanks Bro. Scott. You got me on that one!

We start revival Sunday morning so today is rest, visiting with friends and preparing for revival. I hope you enjoy the pictures. After you Google it, would you eat Nutria?

Update on Bro. Marty Millikin

I know that many of you are praying diligently for Bro. Marty Millikin and we are so thankful for it. Some of you do not know the Millikins but you have taken Bro. Marty and the precious Millikin family on your hearts and added them to your prayer list. May God bless you for that.

Bro. Marty certainly needs a miracle at this time and we know that God is able to move for him. The surgery to remove his kidney and the tumor is scheduled for Monday February 25. His pre-op EKG was a little worrisome so they have him scheduled for a stress test today, Friday February 22. Let's continue to pray for Bro. Marty.

UPDATE: The doctor elected to give Bro. Marty another EKG rather than a stress test and the heart doctor has cleared him for surgery on Monday. Praise God!

Here are a few pictures of Marty. Two were taken in January in Tulsa and the rest are from when we met the Millikins in Branson in June.

Revival In Pictures - Richton, Mississippi Part 2

Here are a few more pictures from revival in Richton. We closed Wednesday night with a super service. Several more were in the altar receiving help from God. Praise God that He is mindful of us. We appreciate all of the kindness shown to our family by Pastor Scott Morris and his fine folks. God bless you for all your hospitality.

We hope to rest today and then travel the short distance to Ellisville on Friday. My voice is still weak from being sick so I am hoping to rest it some before Sunday. Thank you for praying for us. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
