Winter

Winter has arrived! We are in Bond, Kentucky and so is Winter. The picture above is the BoggsMobile parked at the Bond Fellowship Hall yesterday. It is cold and still snowing but we are staying warm inside. The heat is on and we are nice and cozy.

We were only able to have one service yesterday but the Lord came near and spoke to our hearts and folks were touched. Please help us pray for revival here at Bond. Bro. Gabbard and his congregation are dear friends to us. They have ministered to our family so many times through the years and we desire to be used of God to minister to families this week. Thanks for praying.

Chicken Pox Christmas

With Christmas so close I always remember the memories of Christmas' past. This year maybe I can share them with you.

Christmas 2005 is a memory that is engraved in my mind. First I must rewind a couple weeks. We went to a church for revival where several of the children had Chicken Pox. Also this is an important fact to remember: Dad nor I had never had Chicken Pox before.

We left that revival drove overnight and boarded a plane for Mexico. I prayed the whole week that I would not break out while there! I remember inspecting every mysterious bump I had that week.

On Monday before Christmas we made it back to Ohio. I was so happy to be home for the holidays! All day Tuesday I was in bed. The trip to Mexico wore me out, or so I thought.

Wednesday was laundry day. My parents had been trying to encourage me to work through sickness. I was trying to help Mom with the laundry but I felt horrible.

At this point we were the only two in the laundry mat. Mom looked at my face and then my back and realized I was breaking out with Chicken Pox. All I could do was cry!

Yes at 20 years old I had Chicken Pox for the first and I pray last time. They are hard on an old person! I broke out for three days. I spent a total of nine days stuck in our trailer before I was completely scabbed over. It was a miserable Christmas!!

Dad tried his best to stay far away from me. He survived without getting them. Its a miracle! He was exposed when I was and then again when I had them. He didn't hug me for three weeks! LOL

Thanks again to the few brave family members who visited me! Deidre and I played Scrabble untill we were sick of it. Some family members were scared of my house. I really don't blame them!

I am glad that is passed! That year the Grinch didn't steal Christmas. It was that mean chicken.

Monterey Bay Aquarium From The Canon's View

Back in October I visited Monterey Bay Aquarium with several members of the Burris family. I mentioned it in an earlier Blog post. I also had posted pics that Miriam took with her phone. Today I wanted to share the best shots from my camera.

It was a great day! I had a blast with my friends! The day was full of fun.

God's creatures are amazing! Jelly Fish, Star Fish, Penguins, and Sand Dollars are just some of the interesting things we saw that day.

Gainesville, TX to Bond, KY

Tonight is the last scheduled night of revival at House of Prayer in Gainesville, Texas.  We have had good services and great fellowship with Bro. and Sis. Logan and all the folks this week.  I haven't been taking very many pictures but I did get a few last night...

                          Bro. Jim

                        Debra & Odie

                       Pastor Logan & Kelly Jo

                    Bro. Dennis

After the last Amen tonight we will load up, crank the engine and point the BoggsMobile toward Bond, Kentucky.  We plan to drive as far as we can overnight, pull over and sleep a few hours and drive some more.  It is nearly 1000 miles to Bond but if you say it fast it doesn't seem that far.....

Pray for us when you roll over in the bed tonight!

Thankful Thursday

This is a post without pics. I have a praise report. Monday morning I woke up to my back hurting. I think I pulled a muscle in my shoulder area. It bothered me all Monday and Tuesday. When I pull a muscle it affects my whole mobility. In fact most of Tuesday afternoon I spent in the bed with heat on my injury.

Tuesday night Dad preached a great faith building message! The whole sermon I was in horrible pain. Only my parents knew I had been suffering this pain.

In the altar service Sis. Judy King came to me and said God told her to pray for me. I then told I needed an immediate touch. She began praying and I felt the pain and tension leave right then. I praise God for hearing our prayers!!! God is so good! The area is still much better. It is a little tender, it feels a bit like a sunburn.

I know this is somewhat of a small thing. I am so grateful I serve a God of miracles. He cares about His children! My heart is encouraged!

My friend take courage God is mindful of you today! He knows your needs! He is the God of impossibilities! So reach out in faith, believing He is well able to move in your situation. Today may be your day for miracle!

No Miss November

Notice the number next to November in the picture of our blog below.  That's right... 30 days in November and 30 posts.  One post per day without missing a day!

We didn't miss a day the whole month. Not much of an accomplishment in the grand scheme of things but not too shabby for us.  We didn't start out to post every day and we don't think we could keep it up all the time due to time constraints and lack of internet service in many places but at least we did it for one month.

I noticed on about the 7th that we had put up a post each day and that's when Odie and I determined to try to work toward a NO Miss November. I will not tell you who did the bulk of the work.  I'll let you look and determine for yourself. lol!

I don't know if it was posting every day or posting a wider variety of content but our traffic was up quite a bit throughout the month and that is good.  It is reassuring to know that folks are interested in visiting our blog and hopefully taking time to read the posts.  We receive emails and text message responses to the blog on a regular basis.  Now if we could only get you all to comment here on the blog....

The number one complaint from our regular website was there is no place to leave a comment or sign a guestbook.  We solved that with this blog but many of you have gone shy on us... lol

We want you to know that we love to here from you.  Thanks to those of you who keep in touch with us in other ways and a special thanks to those that leave comments.  Here's hoping that you millions OK...thousands of others that visit here will be brave enough to comment on a post or two very soon!

God bless and thanks for reading.
