Campmeeting-Tuesday

Tuesday was a long travel day but we made it safely and on time. We arrived in Dayton just in time for service and the Lord ministered to us in the very first service. It was great to walk into our home church and feel the warmth of all our folks. We love the churches that God has allowed us to visit. We love the pastors and the people God has blessed us to meet. We have some terrific friends all across this country. There is just something special about worshiping with the folks that have always loved you, warts and all! These people have stood by our side through thick and thin and back to thick again. It is good to be home.

Last night Bro. Kevin Webster gave us a word from the Lord. Odie was really touched as she prayed in the altar and it was a blessing to all of us. God is so good!

This morning service was very good also. Bro. Dwain Galiher brought us the main message and it was a timely word as well. I will try to get some pictures up tonight if I can.

Dryden Rd. Indoor Fellowship Meeting

Sunday we were filling the pulpit at Amazing Grace Tabernacle in Atwater, California in place of Pastor Jared Burris who is in Ohio visiting family and attending Dryden Rd. Indoor Fellowship Meeting. We will be starting revival for Bro. Burris on Tuesday the 24th and we are looking forward to seeing what the Lord is going to do. Sunday was a great day with friends and we enjoyed the fellowship, food and fun.

Meanwhile we are flying to Ohio to be in Dryden Rd. meeting ourselves. It will be great to be home and to see Odie and the rest of our families again. We are looking forward to being in service at our home church and worshiping with our folks. I am sure that we will hear from Heaven as Bro. Dwain Galiher preaches in the morning and Bro. Kevin Webster preaches at night. Come on out to campmeeting if you can, I know you will enjoy it.

I promised some random pictures of the Boggs crew.
The first few are at the end of July when it was Mamaw's birthday.

The day before her birthday Mamaw, Papaw, and I went shopping and to lunch. In the evening Me, Mamaw, Theresa and Lauren had some girl fun.

On Mamaw's actual birthday several of us met at the Mexican restaurant in Lebanon. Its great Mexican food for Ohio!!

Then there is the Pic of Uncle Tommy's family. Jonas is my buddy! We have spent more time together than usual. I love that he thinks it is cool to hang out with his "OLD" cousin". LOL Aunt Holly thanks for helping me get to church on Sundays while home. Uncle Tommy comes by sometimes in between classes, studying and clinicals. He is working hard in his RN schooling. Please keep him in your prayers!!!

Friday night was a blast! It was an all girls night with Lisa, Deidre, and Lauren. It started with dinner at our favorite Skyline. Then some shopping. We played games laughed until we cried and just had fun!!!! Oh and I proved to them that aggravate me enough and I will tackle you to the ground!!!

Lauren will be 14 on the day I leave Ohio, August 23rd. She chose to not have a big birthday party this year. So we used our girls night to celebrate her big day!! Pictured is the Oreo and candy bar creation Deidre made to represent a cake.

Deidre will be 18 on August 26th. She had big celebration Thursday. I will post more on that later. Happy birthday to my girls!!!

Oh and for the record Lisa is a cousin from the Isaacs side of our family. But she is an adopted Boggs. Thanks Lisa for all your help during my visit home. She is an awesome friend and cousin!!

Indoor Fellowship meeting is Tuesday-Friday. Bro. Kevin Webster is scheduled to preach Tuesday-Friday night. Bro Dwain Galiher is the morning speaker Wednesday-Friday. Everyone is invited, we expect an AWESOME week!!!!!!!

Hiouchi, CA to Manteca, CA

The word of the day for Friday was SLOW..... VERY SLOW! We traveled well over 400 miles but the first 324 miles were the most interesting. We finished Hwy 199, then South on Hwy 101 for over 235 miles and then Hwy 20 for about 80 miles. The whole distance was steep mountains, sharp curves and narrow passes. I rarely reached 50 mph until I reached the interstate after almost 9 hours. Here are the stats on the first 324 miles. It took us between 8 1/2 and 9 hours for an average of 37.8 mph. Like I said, the word of the day was SLOW.

We took it slow and easy and watched the scenery go by and enjoyed seeing the things our God has made. We saw miles and miles of Redwoods, mountains, the Pacific Ocean, fog, sunshine, cliffs and sandy beaches. It was another beautiful drive. I am trying to embed a map of today's drive. Let me know if that works. If it does I may do that on travels day when I have access to the internet.

These first two curves were within 3 miles our campground this morning.... These were followed by several hundred more curves....

Reckon this tree has been hit a few times by folks just like us trying to get around this curve without getting in the oncoming lane? I was prepared...I drove in the oncoming lane....

The fog was very thick for an hour or so as it rolled off the ocean and over the road.

We stopped for a few quick pictures several miles South of Crescent City. It would have been a great time for a swim since there was nobody else there but Kelly Jo doesn't believe in swimming when you have to wear a hat, coat and gloves to do it...

I am sure the BoggsMobile has been to the Pacific Ocean before (The first owner lived in southern California) but today was the first time we brought her to the ocean. I asked her to pose for a picture in front of the waves. She didn't want to since we have been on the road for days without a washing but she posed anyway!

The rest of the day was pretty much more of the same (Pictures below) and worth every mile of it. We did drive past Clear Lake for several miles on Hwy 20 but no pictures... It was gorgeous though.

We are in a RV Park in Manteca. We arrived just at dark and it took us about 20 minutes to unhook the jeep, pull into the site and level up. In the process I was accosted and cussed by a very dissatisfied neighbor from a few sites down because I was a "rich guy idling my diesel so everybody in the campground knows I have a diesel." That is not an exact quote because he kept using the same curse word for a filler every three or four syllables. I tried being kind but that just welcomed him right into my face so I ask him where he went to school. That kind of knocked him back on his heals as it always does. He told me he went to school all over and I told him he didn't get a very good education because he only learned one word and it was vulgar. He slowed for a bit then kept repeating himself. Our immediate neighbors were as appalled as we were and they told me I shut the engine off over an hour before quiet time.

Well, we meet some interesting characters out here on the road. We rarely cross paths with folks who refuse to get along but tonight was an exception. Maybe I'll get a chance to talk with him in the morning before we leave.

We are only about 60 miles from our destination and we are ready.....
