Revival In Pictures - Citronelle, Alabama

We were blessed with visitors this week at Cedar Creek near Citronelle, Alabama and that is always a very good thing. It was so wonderful to have old friends and new friends visiting every night of revival. Praise God for sending good people to help and encourage us!

It was good to see new faces at Cedar Creek as well. God has been saving people and bringing them to the church and it was thrilling to meet them. I love to see that when we go back to churches. Hallelujah.

Pastor Darius Templeton and his folks treated us so good and we appreciate that too. We understand very well that it is our privilege to be invited into churches to minister and try to be an instrument of revival. We were honored to be here again and we pray for a lasting impact from revival.

Odie snapped several pictures in order to bring you Revival In Pictures. I hope you enjoy every picture. Thank you for dropping by today.

A Set of New Wheels for Odie

In May of 2012, we purchased the Green Machine, a 2006 Scion xB. It served us well for many years. Although we still own it and drive it in Ohio, it is mostly retired from its main duty of being pulled behind the BoggsMobile.

The next year, in May of 2013, Odie purchased another set of wheels. It was a four wheel battery operated scooter.

Previously, we had traveled with two different heavy wheelchairs, but the scooter was much better. It is lightweight and it comes apart in seconds without tools and goes back together easily too. That makes it possible for KJo to unload it, put it together and have it ready for Odie to ride anywhere. It has been a great chair for nearly nine years.

It bounced around in the back of the Green Machine for many years and many, many miles. Lately, it has begun to fail while KJo and Odie were out. Thankfully, KJo was there to help. If not, Odie would have been stuck.

Odie has been looking for a replacement, but everything was back ordered for months. I suppose you have noticed the same thing with lots of items.

Finally, she found a mobility store in Mobile, Alabama that had several in stock, including a scooter that was one step up from her current scooter.

This week we visited the store and made the deal. Here are a few pictures of the one she has had since 2013.

She had red accent pieces on it for a long time, but changed to the blue ones a few years ago.

This is the new one purchased on 2/22/22.

Here they are together.

They seem to be about the same speed, they have the same battery, but the new one has a few differences. It has small springs for suspension, the foot tray is more substantial and it is about an inch wider at the back wheels. The steering and handles seemed to be improved, but time will tell.

Odie is very happy with it.

Hopefully, this one lasts for many years to come.

Thank you for stopping by.

A Word For Wednesday Direction Is More Important Than Location

It is time for A Word For Wednesday. A Few minutes ago, I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Direction Is More Important Than Location

You may be far, far away from God. You may have someone dear to you that is far away from God. That is a horrible location. However, if you turn toward God, your direction is more important than your location.

Moving toward God is always better than moving away from God.

Thank you for joining us on Wednesdays. We try to have a short video ready to go every Wednesday and we hope you enjoy it.

Thank you for dropping in. Have a great day.

Doing Something We Have Never Done Before

We evangelized two years and eight months in the early 90s. We have been on the road for over nineteen years this time. In our years of traveling, we have stayed in a variety of places while preaching revivals. We have stayed in homes, basements, Sunday School rooms, evangelist quarters, parsonages, motels, hotels and a few places we have purposely forgotten.

We have lived in four different RVs. The first three were fifth wheels. First was a 1979 Holiday Ramblette, then a 1984 Hitchhiker and finally a 2004 Newmar Kountry Star. The fourth RV is the 1995/96 Prevost XL Vantare bus that we currently call the BoggsMobile.

There are times when we have been in the bus for months on end that we move into a hotel for two or three days in between revivals. It is usually a welcome break. We did that two or three times last year while I was recovering from COVID.

There is one thing we have never done in nearly 14 years of traveling on the bus. We have never moved out of the bus to stay in an evangelist quarters or parsonage during revival. Odie often does that, but KJo and I have never, until now.

White Plains has a parsonage attached to the church. We have stayed in it a few times when we did not have the bus. However, when we have the bus, we much prefer to stay in the bus. It is home.

We have stayed in several hotels and evangelist quarters over the last 14 years when we have flown to a meeting or if the bus was in the shop or unavailable for some reason.

Last week, KJo wanted to do some deep cleaning in the bus and Odie was needing to clean her bunk area too. That is much easier if I am not constantly taking up half the available square footage.

So Saturday we did something we had never done before. We moved out of the bus and into the parsonage for the duration of revival, even though the bus was parked right outside. We stayed from Saturday morning until we left for Alabama on Friday morning.

We enjoyed the extra space. I had the choice of two recliners and plenty of room to spread out my materials when I was reading or preparing for preaching. There was also a kingsize bed to sleep in. We really, really enjoyed it. It is so nice of our White Plains friends to make the parsonage available to us.

KJo and I enjoyed the week in new surroundings, but we were very happy to move back into the bus. Like I said, it is home. It took us 14 years to try it and it may take 14 years to try it again.

Thank you for stopping in for a few minutes today.

The Weekend Dispatch 2/21/22

Saturday evening I was able to put up a short video from Soundcheck Church in Citronelle, Alabama.

The Weekend Dispatch
Our weekend started a little differently than normal, but that is OK. Different is good.

Wednesday we noticed that bad weather was predicted for Thursday in Mississippi and Alabama. Some of the folks at White Plains suggested we stay put Thursday and it seemed like the best thing to do.

We spent most of the day in the parsonage just in case. The hail and tornadoes did not materialize in our area but the high winds and heavy rains did. I was amazed at how quickly the incredible winds would build and disappear several times Thursday.

Friday morning it was Much cooler after Thursday's storm front. We bundled up about mid-morning and did all the things necessary to hit the road.

Here we are ready to go.

When we are going east out of the church at White Plains, we need a spotter at the west entrance to keep from getting killed. People treat that highway like a racetrack and I can not see over the hill when exiting east. There is no way someone could avoid hitting the bus if they came flying over the hill.

KJo watched traffic for me in the Jeep and then we hooked the Jeep to the bus ten miles later at a truck stop in Union.

The trip from White Plains to Cedar Creek Church near Citronelle Alabama was completely uneventful and we arrived after 3 hours and fifteen minutes and 160 miles. Other than hooking up the car in Union, we never stopped. That is exactly like we prefer a travel day, short, sweet and no problems.

The parking spot at Cedar Creek is easy-peazy. We turn off the road, pull straight in, level up and unhook the Jeep.

It was wonderful to see Bro. Darius and Sis. Kim Templeton Friday evening. We love these dear friends from many years back at home in Dayton. Everyone misses them at Dryden Rd. but  I am glad they are working here at Cedar Creek.

Saturday we carried in and set up sound.

Sunday we began revival in the morning service. It was so good to be in church will all of our friends. We look forward to being in revival at Cedar Creek Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

In 2020, we found our way to the church at the end of the road, St. Thomas Assembly, on a Sunday evening. This church is Pastored by our friend, Bro. Eddie Stringfellow. We were free on Sunday night so we made plans to be there again.

We loved being there with friends and we had a wonderful service. We hope to see many of them in revival at Cedar Creek this week.

Wow! What a great Sunday to top off a great weekend. Thank you for spending a few minutes with us today.

Currently, we are supposed to be in Citronelle, Alabama, tomorrow morning, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. I am excited to see Pastor Darius, Sis Kim Templeton and all of our dear friends at Cedar Creek. We always enjoy our time with them!

Feeling Blessed

I am feeling blessed and I must testify a little bit. One year ago, things were very uncertain and scary for us. Dad and I both were very sick. I was pretty sure that I would recover. I hoped and prayed for a full recovery for Dad. There were days that outcome was doubtful.

Those days were scary, but I always knew God was in control. He was with us every step of the way! Nothing that we faced surprised God! No matter the outcome, He would see us through.

Today we are on the other side! God answered many prayers that were prayed for our family! I praise God for giving me the desires of my heart! I am also extremely thankful for all of you that helped us through our tough period. Your prayers and words of encouragement are very much appreciated!

I heard Karen Peck and New River singing this song recently. I paused to soak up the wordss. I had to put it on repeat for a few days. My heart was overflowing with gratitude for my numerous blessings!

Now I can not get it out of my head. These lyrics are my testimony today. I am really feeling blessed beyond measure!

I had to share this song with my friends too. Take a moment to listen to this song and read the words for yourself. Reflect on the blessings that God has given you!

Blessed

Verse 1
Some days you may lead me through green pastures
Where my heart drinks in deep the waters sweet
And some days you may lead me through the desert
Even then you're still the reason I can say

Chorus
I am blessed beyond measure
So far beyond what's gained through earthly treasures
Whatever comes my way
Still my soul will say
I am blessed
I am blessed.

Verse 2
Through the troubled pain and disappointments
When it seems that I have nothing left
You will never leave me or forsake me
I will testify until my dying breath

Chorus
I am blessed beyond measure
So far beyond what's gained through earthly treasures
Whatever comes my way
Still my soul will say
I am blessed
I am blessed

Bridge
You alone are my reward
With you I want for nothing more
And because your goodness follows me all of my days

Chorus
I am blessed beyond measure
So far beyond what's gained through earthly treasures
Oh whatever comes my way
Still my soul will say
I am blessed
I am blessed
I am blessed

Thank you Jesus
