A Serious Request For Prayer

I had a post all typed up for today, but it did not seem right at the moment. I am going to ask for prayer instead.

We have friends that are desperately in need of prayer. I know that many of you that regularly read Mile Markers are people that know how to pray. I want to make you aware of our hurting friends so that you will pray for them.

First, I am asking you to pray for our dear friends in Ellisville, Mississippi and Richton, Mississippi. Sis. Margaret Eldridge from the Ellisville church passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday and her daughters, other relatives and church family are nearly in shock with grief. Sis. Margaret was a sweet and wonderful lady.

We have been grieving with our friends since we heard the tragic news and we are asking God to be near these precious people and give them strength through this horrible time.

Secondly, one of my very best friends in this area also needs God's touch. Pastor Wade Hicks lost his wife Wednesday afternoon. Sis. Rhonda Hicks has been sick with various serious ailments for quite a while, but there was no indication that her life was threatened.

She went down fast over a 24 hour period and she slipped into Heaven. Bro. Wade and his daughters and his church are crushed and we are too. It is so hard to believe that she is gone just like that.

Bro. and Sis. Hicks have been our friends for way over 30 years. They have been so kind and gracious to us and we have valued their friendship tremendously. Please, please, please pray for all the folks in the West Harrison church.

Thank you for joining us in prayer.

Nice To Have The Proper Jeep At Home

The Jeep is back in the capable hands of KJo. Monday evening I called the dealership to check on the repairs. I was not in a hurry for it, but it was a few days past the estimated time frame. I was hoping they were not expecting me to show up and I had misunderstood.

They were only a few minutes away from having it ready, so I headed that way. The paint repair looked good and they had given it a decent wash and spit shine. The rain and snow this week spoiled the wash, but that is no problem. It was a factory paint problem and covered under the original warranty.

So the Jeep Compass loaner car went back. It is a nice little Jeep, but a bit small for our needs all the time. It was fine for the short term.

And the Jeep Grand Cherokee came back home.

It is nice to have it back. I had not driven the Jeep much since we bought it, but I drove it about three hours Tuesday and I am going to drive it some more today. IF I am going to drive the bus long distances like we must do to travel, then I need to know if I can drive without difficulty.

Driving the Jeep is not the same as driving the car, but it is a start. I am doing my best to build up to full strength and full duty. Please keep praying for us. We desire God's help and His direction.

Thank you for stopping in today.

A Little More Portable and Transportable

May God bless you for praying for us. I am getting word each day of dear friends bombarding Heaven on our behalf. We appreciate that more that we can express.

I have not felt like getting out much this week. As I said yesterday, I have good strength, but I do not have much breath or stamina. I have been told that both will come with patience. I am waiting.

I think I have quoted this Gerald Crabb lyric recently, but it is worth quoting again. "Patience is a virtue and a weakness of mine."😍

Even though I have not been out much, I do have a way to get out now. Due to the kindness of several individuals and a few churches, we were able to purchase a lightweight portable oxygen concentrator.

I was able to walk slowly up to Odie's one day and I rode up in the car another day. I also climbed in the car with KJo and went to town. I stayed in the Jeep while she ran errands, but I was able to do that because of the new machine.

I was also able to be outside guiding KJo and Dad Tuesday while they were doing the work of the evangelist, because of the portable concentrator. I could not have done that without it.

I hope that I do not have to use it long, but I am very, very thankful to have it. Being tied to a machine is one thing, but being tied to ONE place is another thing.

This one works differently than the regular machine in the BoggsMobile. The one in the bus is capable of producing an constant flow of oxygen, so I can talk and breathe smoothly. A battery operated machine is not capable of that for long periods yet.

To save on battery, the portable concentrator senses when I am inhaling and sends the oxygen in a short pulse as I breathe in. When I am talking, it gets confused, I get confused and my oxygen level goes down.

So it is not perfect, but it is wonderful. I suppose it is good for me to talk less and study to be quiet. It is nice to be able to get out and about!

Thank you for getting out and about to Mile Markers today. We appreciate your visit.

Grass Is Growing

The temperatures have taken a nose dive yesterday and today. It was below 30 last night and will struggle to get to 38 today. We had a very cool and wet spring last year while we were home during the lockdown. I am sure hoping this year is more spring-like!

Thankfully, it was a beautiful day Tuesday. Dad came Tuesday morning and mowed the grass for the first time. It was already nine or ten inches tall in some places on March 30. That is difficult to believe.

I have never been one to stay in one place long enough for the grass to grow much under me, but I suppose my ways are changing for a bit. The grass is growing.

While Dad was here he helped us remove the bus from the barn, do the work of the evangelist, get the bus into the barn and get everything hooked back up. None of it is really hard work, but it must be done step by step.

I could not have done it without KJo and my Dad. I have plenty of strength to do what I need, but I do not have the breath or stamina. I am trying very hard to follow the advice of people that know much more than I do and take it easy.

I did climb the stairs to my study today and spent a few hours up there, using oxygen. My levels stayed up good and I enjoyed being surrounded by so many of my dear friends (books).

Odie is still doing well and Kelly Jo is as pretty and as hard working as ever. Thank you for praying for us and thank you for stopping by Mile Markers. Have a super great day.

Yes, Best of Times and Worst of Times

To paraphrase Charles Dickens, these are the best of times, these are the worst of times. To interpret, this has been an awesome week and this has been a horrible week. During this week we have been covered by the Spirit of the Lord over and over and we have been slammed over and over with sickness.

Yes, these are the best of times and these are the worst of times.

Since Saturday, March 13, I have sliding backward in my breathing. By Wednesday morning of this past week, I perceived that I was in trouble. By that evening it felt like I had no more room in my lungs for breath and we began to reach out to friends and family for prayer.

The pressure on my chest was severe and constant. Then God's people began to pray. One dear friend called a few minutes before 9:00 eastern Wednesday night. In moments his prayer was covered by the Holy Ghost and we were too. It was glorious for over 20 minutes. KJo and I were ushered into the presence of God right in the BoggsMobile.

Later, I found that others were in serious and fervent prayer for us at that very time. They were touching God, God was touching them and God was touching us! All over America, they were praying and we were feeling it. Praise God!

Even though we felt wonderful in our spirits, Wednesday night was a rough night for me physically. I could barely get enough oxygen, even with supplemental oxygen.

Thursday was shakey, but I rested better Thursday night and Friday night and we have been praising God for it. I still have a long way to go to get back to where I was three or four weeks ago, but I think I am headed in the right direction.

Thank you for praying for us, please continue.

Some Misinformation
By Thursday morning, the word was out to many, many people that I needed prayer. I always appreciate people praying, but some told me they had heard some things that were not true.

Some heard that I was in the hospital on a ventilator and might not make it through the night without a miracle.

Others heard that the doctor had told me I had double pneumonia and needed a miracle.

I am so sorry for the misinformation that was spread.

I am afraid it is like the news stations that make every rainstorm into the storm of the century and then nearly nothing happens. Soon the people do not even listen to the genuine warnings.

I was very, very sick. I was lower than I have ever been in my life. I did think there was a possibility that I could die without God's touch. I am tremendously thankful for all that prayed for me and that touched God on my behalf.

However, I am sorry if you received an alert that was not true. I can not do a thing in the world about it, I have no idea how it began, but I am sorry if you received prayer requests that were not true. I hope that does not harden you the next time you get a very serious request to pray for someone.

Thankful!
We are very thankful for the help and guidance that we have received from doctors and nurses and other medical personnel that have offered guidance, advice and direction all the way through this mess. We are thankful for you.

We are also tremendously thankful to all of you that have fervently prayed and offered scripture and words of encouragement. May God bless you for your kindness and thoughtfulness toward us. Some have prayed for hours at a time and others have not gone 15 minutes during the day without praying for us. Thank you.

I am better than I was Wednesday and Thursday. I had no other good direction to go, but up. However, I am not out of the woods yet. I am not able to go, I am not able to preach, I am not able to exert at all. I need some time to heal and I need God's help to heal. Please keep praying.

If the truth is known, I was probably trying to preach and sing and work too much too soon. That may be part of the reason for the recent physical difficulty.

We appreciate you joining us today on Mile Markers, friends.

Do We Have An Early Verdict?

There is no A Word For Wednesday post today. Preaching this week and day to day responsibilities have kept me hopping and I have not had time to record for Wednesday. IF I get a chance to record today, I will throw it up, but I can not see it happening.

You probably know that this three night revival next door at Dodds Church has been a test. Am I able to sing and preach three nights in a row? I have preached one night at a time in our Beach Cottage studio, but can I preach night after night? That is the test.

What Is the verdict?

After two nights, I think the verdict is mostly in. Even though I have felt great spiritually and decent physically while preaching, I have not felt great afterward. I wanted to feel great. I have tried to will myself to feel great, but the truth is the truth.

I do not wish to go into details, but it is obvious to me, I am not ready to do even three nights in a row. To hit the road like we always have, I need to be able to do 5-7 nights in a row, week after week.

I am not even close to that and that is not even considering bus work, traveling, handling sound equipment and all the other physical aspects. We are still in the process of figuring out what that means for our schedule in the next few months and when we know, you will know shortly after.

We do have one more night of revival so maybe we will have a drastic change tonight. God is able! I am persuaded He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day!

Thank you for praying for us and I would appreciate you continuing to pray. We know that God hears and listens!

Revival Service Tonight By God's Grace

I wrote about having a plan a few days ago. I laid out plan A and then mentioned plan B in passing at the end of the post. Interestingly, absolutely everyone that contacted me about that post encouraged us and pushed us toward plan B. Definitely something to think about!😍

We are going to try to record a revival service for our YouTube Channel sometime today. If we can get it done, we will plan to make it live at 8:00 PM eastern.

We are recording the service rather than doing it live, because I really do not know if I can get enough air to sing and preach a whole service. The whole thing is a test and are praying that we can do it. If we can do one, then maybe we may try to do two or three over the weekend.

IF that works, then a week or so later, we may try a few more in a row and slowly build up from there.

Thank you for praying for us as we move forward. I appreciate you dropping in today.

Moving A Bit

Yesterday we cranked the bus and moved it outside the barn to do the work of the evangelist and then pulled it back inside. I worked very slow and methodically and I was able to complete the task. We also backed up the drive next to the house and unloaded some sound equipment.

I also left the Ranch this morning for the first time in 24 days.

I drove the Jeep to the dealership for a few minutes and I think I did OK. I am still using oxygen some, but I am gaining, I hope.

Thank you for praying for us and thank you for checking on us.

Another Step!

I suppose you have seen enough snow pictures on Mile Markers lately. However, this one is kind of special. I took this one myself!

For the first time since I pulled the bus into the barn on Tuesday, February, 2, I walked outside the barn for a few minutes Thursday, February 18. Not a giant step of progress, but a big step in the right direction.

Please keep praying. I have a long way to go to build up my strength in order to sing and preach and do all the work necessary to get back to the business of revival week after week, but by God's grace, we will do it putting one foot in front of another.

Thank you for praying for all of us. We feel God helping us tremendously! Hallelujah!

May God bless you for stopping by.

Wonderful News From Nigeria!

I am happy to report some great news from afar. Yesterday I received an email with pictures from Nigeria. The new addition to the GoodNews Christian School is finally completed, including a much needed bathroom.

This building was originally two rooms that we helped construct a few years ago. In this current building process, there was another room added below and rooms above. I am so thrilled to show you the pictures.

So many people have helped us with this project and we appreciate it so very much. Our latest round of money sent was made possible by the students of Ellisville First Assembly Academy, Bethany Revival Center and my brother Steve and his wife Karen.

May God bless these folks and all of you that have helped with this project in the past.

These rooms just barely keep pace with the needs of the school. In order to build more, we are probably going to have to purchase unfinished buildings next door. I do no even know the feasibility of those options, but help us pray for guidance.

Educating these children, many of them from non-Christian, even Muslim homes, may be the greatest impact we can have for Christ on Abeokuta and the nation of Nigeria. Thank you for helping us do that!

As a regular part of our support for the school, we try to pay the salaries of Bro. Shobanke's daughters and son in law that run the school. Thank you for helping us do that too.

Thank you for dropping in today. I hope you enjoyed the pictures.

How?

How does a person catch COVID?

According to the CDC, this is the method most clearly understood.

COVID-19 spreads between people who are in close contact (within about 6 feet) through respiratory droplets, created when someone talks, coughs or sneezes. Staying away from others helps stop the spread of COVID-19.

In other words, if you are close enough for someone to breathe on you, then you are close enough to catch COVID from them if they have it.

How in the world did Odie and I catch it? Good question.

We have not been caviler in our approach to COVID from day one. Odie and I were sick with the flu or something in January 2020, so we quit shaking hands with people then, trying to protect them from whatever we had.

On February 18, 2020, I wrote a post about the flu and coronavirus and stated my opinion that we ought to take it seriously, including recommending that we stop shaking hands in our churches.

As I suspected, I was laughed to scorn over my suggestion and even made fun of publicly. That was OK, it was no big deal. We determined then that we would do our very best to stay free from coronavirus and make our living the best way we could, carefully.

We shut down in the spring of 2020 like most folks and then followed a very careful regimen to ease back onto the road for the rest of 2020.

Honestly, I had at least two Pastors cancel our revivals because they thought we were being too careful in our approach. That was disappointing and unpleasant, but not completely surprising.

The latter half of 2020 went very well. We determined to continue to follow our careful plan into 2021.

Our last revival preached was in Sweeny, Texas. We enjoyed great services with Bro. Lamb's small crowd and no one was sick there when we left or for the next two weeks.

We met friends for lunch the next day with masks and distancing. The waitress was masked and extremely careful. The two friends we met for lunch have not been sick since then.

Sunday morning we ministered in song for Pastor Don Goodwin in Livingston, Texas and everyone was extremely careful and considerate around us. No one in the church was sick after we were there.

The next week we had online revival in the bus and Odie and I did not get within 50-100 feet of anyone at all!

Thursday afternoon, the Pastor in Bernice, Louisiana came to the church to unlock the door for us, but I was no closer to him than 10 feet and only for a very few minutes. Plus, he has already had COVID and has not been sick since then.

While KJo and I were working outside an older brother stopped for a moment to check on us, but he did not get out of his truck, we did not get near the truck and like the Pastor, he had already had COVID.

Sunday morning, Odie and I both woke up sick and tested positive. That was nine days after revival, eight days after meeting friends for lunch and seven days from one service in Livingston and no one from any of those places became sick over the next two weeks.

So, how in the world did Odie and I catch COVID? We evidently got close enough for someone to breathe on us, even though we did not know it AND even no one we were around caught it or showed symptoms of catching it later.

Yep, this is a bad, bad bug! Please be careful out there. It is not hard to catch, but may be hard to shake. Once we are well, we will venture to the outside world again, but I promise you, we will continue to be careful and probably even more so.

Thank you for praying for us. We still need Him.

A Short Report

 Short Report

KJo
Thankfully, Kelly Jo has stayed well so far through this whole mess. We all went to be tested for COVID antibodies last November and she was the only one that showed positive for antibodies. They were not strong, so that suggested it has been a while since she had unknowingly had COVID.

It is entirely possible, Kelly Jo had it when we were exposed in Australia and came through it while we were quarantined for 21 days upon arrival home. I was with her every single day of that period and since then, but evidently, I did not catch it during that time.

When we arrived home from Louisiana 14 days ago, Kelly Jo moved into Odie's house with her, Odie confining herself to her bedroom and bathroom. It was not a perfect plan, since the house ventilation is obviously one unit, but it was the best we could do.

Kelly comes to the bus in the barn 8-10 times a day to help me with medicine and food. We both mask up when she is here and she only stays 3-5 minutes for less.

KJo has worked so diligently to help me and Odie. It is amazing the multiple calls and trips she has made to drive-thru pharmacies all over this area to obtain prescriptions. She has worked and called and driven and then kept everything going medicine and food-wise.

Thank God she has stayed healthy. The weather has not cooperated with her at all. We have had much snow and cold, but her breathing has done pretty well considering. She has suffered some with asthma, but thankfully she has been able to stay on top of it.

Odie
Unfortunately, Odie did not have a light case of COVID.  She has suffered quite a bit, but we are very thankful that it did not attack Odie's lungs. Praise God for that. She is over it for the most part with only a few lingering and nagging effects.

The main thing now is that she feels like she has a sunburn at times, but with no rash or discoloring. We have heard from others that endured the same thing.

Davy
The very first symptom I woke up with 16 days ago was a burning sensation in my esophagus and lungs. That was the reason we made the difficult decision to drive home. I knew that if I became sicker, I would not be able to drive home later.

We did make it home on the third day and by the fifth day, there is no way I would have been able to drive. Thank God we made it home!

My main problem has been my lungs, but for about 30-36 hours on days five and six, my temperature fluctuated like crazy. If I told you the highs and lows of my temperature, I am convinced that many of you would think I am exaggerating.

As my temperature was soaring Saturday night, Bro. John and Sis. Ann Gabbar called and prayed heaven down on my soul! It was an experience that  I will not soon forget. Hallelujah!

Over and over since then friends have called and prayed for me and I appreciate every single prayer. Hundreds of others have been praying daily and we know that God hears and answers those prayers.

By the end of day 11, a friend found an oxygen machine and that has been a tremendous help. For the five days previous, I was breathing in deeply through my nose, holding my breath for 3-4 seconds and then exhaling slowly in order to keep my blood oxygen level anywhere near acceptable.

The oxygen has been a game changer. We also keep a humidifier going too.

I have been marching in place and religiously using this to help whip my lungs into shape, but I have a long way to go.

I have also been singing for at least a few minutes every day too. The presence of the Lord has been so near me every moment. All three of us have been physically alone most of these 14 days, but God has stood near us and blessed us.

Everything that I have preached about the presence of the Lord is true! It is true! He will walk with us! He will go beside us! He will carry us!

Thank you for praying for us. Thank you for interceding for us. We are praising God for His help and we are asking for more of it.

I appreciate my parents, KJo's parents and many other family and friends that have rallied around us to help us. From moving snow,  buying food, delivering whatever we need, you all have been lifesavers. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Thank you for stopping by today.

Real Life

Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking in with you for another Saturday. I hope you are having a good day.

Currently, at writing time, I am not having the best day. I write these a few days ahead of time so that I have time to edit and Dad has time to help me get the post ready to publish.

I am still dealing with Covid.  I am hoping by publication time that this will all be in the rearview mirror for me. This has been a rollercoaster of a ride. I am ready for it to end.

I am so thankful that my symptoms have been mostly manageable! God has truly helped me! I am so grateful.

My family and friends have been super supportive and helpful. I appreciate the prayers and encouragement! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

The taste and smell decided to leave me on Day 7. This is a symptom that I have heard and read about for months. I had hoped to avoid losing my taste if at all possible. Sadly I had no control over what really happened.

Now I can faintly taste some things.  Sweet things are what I savor the most. At least I get to enjoy a little goodness. Today I am dreaming of eating a Chocolate Cover Keylime Pie on a stick from Key West, Florida.

It is the strangest sensation to bite into a piece of food that is normally full of flavor and taste nothing. I know that I am not alone in dealing with this symptom.  I hope and pray that it does not last long.

I know God is in control of all things. I plan to survive victoriously!

I have been encouraging myself with this scripture for the last couple of days. Covid can not take away the goodness of God in my soul!

x

O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Psalms 34:8

Thanks for reading. See you next week.

Bad Bug, Big God!

This is a bad, bad bug, but we serve a big, big God!

Praise God for hundreds of people that are praying for us! Hallelujah! Thank you, friends. Please keep it up. We are struggling, but The Lord has come to us in a mighty way a few times through this.

Please pray that KJo stays healthy. We and she are masking whenever we have to be together, but we are asking for divine protection. The sooner this is banished from the Boggs family, the better!

Thank you for the prayers, thank you for the scriptures, thank you for the words of encouragement, thank you for praying heaven down on us. We have felt God close and we are clinging to what we know and have declared about God.

I have listened to many hours of the scripture and of preaching. I am filling my mind with faith from the Word of God. We are doing our best to keep our minds focused completely on Him whenever possible. We know that He is our answer!

I believe that no matter what the outcome of any situation, He's Got It All In Control.

Update, Travel Days and Arriving Home

Thank you for praying for us three. We are doing well by God's grace. I rested some last night and Odie did too. We are also feeling the prayers of God's people and God is helping. We have also had the right people get us Z-Pacs, Ivermectin and other things and we are taking them faithfully. I have always been a belt AND suspender guy.

My chest feels like it is on fire, but running no fever much. I had a light fever coming and going the first day or two, but none as of now. Odie is about the same, except no congestion. We are tired, but not experiencing extreme fatigue yet. We are thankful!

We are doing our best to keep Kelly Jo from getting sick. Even though she has some antibodies in her blood, we are not taking chances. We can not afford for her to get sick. She is definitely the most important factor here and we are not about to forget that.

I probably need to explain why we would drive over 900 miles when it probably would have been easier to stay in Bernice, Louisiana. There are several people in that church that work in the medical field and they were very willing for us to stay there and help take care of us.

Also, a few other very kind pastors let me know we were completely welcome to drive to their churches and park for the duration, however long the duration is. We certainly appreciate all that kindness.

If this was the flu, or head cold, or common cold or something similar, staying in place would have been the most prudent and even cost effective thing to do. I did seriously consider it.

But this is COVID. We all know by now, that anything can happen with this. The vast majority of people come through it and in a week or two, or less, they are running at full speed. There is no rhyme or reason as to who gets hit hard or why.

That unknown caused me to make the decision to try to get home. I fully expect to go through this fine, but IF I became sicker than standard and got hit really hard, the last place we needed to be was 900+ miles from home with no way to get us or the bus home. Does that make sense?

It made sense to me. At least it did until I was actually driving those 900 miles! I questioned my decision making process and even my sanity a few times along the way, but there was no sense in turning back.

Please understand this. Traveling in the bus, we can drive across country and never get near anyone to expose them to the virus. KJo and Odie need not even get out of the bus once. I would get out in the morning and check the bus and Jeep over before we left, always wearing a mask and making sure NO one was around at all. I would also walk around the bus a few times to get my blood pumping and my lungs expanding.

It got so rough that Kelly Jo even drove about 30 minutes Tuesday morning.

Speaking of walking, it is way too cold to walk here. The cold air sets my lungs on fire. I am walking back and forth in the bus and breathing deeply multiple times day and night.

We drove 283 miles the first evening, 413 miles Monday and 222 miles Tuesday morning, arriving at the Lazy OD Ranch at 1:40 PM.

That totals 918 on the GPS. I have not checked the odometer on the bus, sometimes it registers a bit more, but 918 is close.

Monday, we realized the driveway was going to be snow covered and frozen when we arrived Wednesday. It is downhill the 150 feet or so from Odie's house to the barn. The tent trailer was in the barn and needs to be pulled out uphill. The bus needs to be pulled into the barn downhill. Snow and ice make both of those complicated.

My Dad got his grandson, my nephew Luke, to bring his 4WD truck and his back. Luke shoveled the snow about 30-40 feet up the hill from the barn and Odie's driveway too.

When we arrived home, we parked next door and unhooked the Jeep and used it to get Odie to her house. Then I sprinkled Icemelt on the driveway in front of the barn that Luke shoveled.

We hooked the trailer to the truck and Dad was able to get it up the hill enough so that he could back it to the side. Then I brought the bus over and crept SLOWLY down the hill into the barn, sliding only a little toward the top. Whew!

This is the driveway after it was shoveled, Icemelt applied and the trailer was out and the bus was in.

We were about an hour from arrival to finishing up and I was thrilled to get it done and get it done safely. I appreciate my Dad, Luke and my sister Theresa. Of course, you know that KJo worked hard too. She always does.

I could have parked outside the barn, but that would have been a nightmare with the super cold temps we had Tuesday night and with colder weather coming over the weekend. Even though the barn is not insulated properly or heated, it is much better in here out of the wind.

We had some sunshine Wednesday and I am glad of that. I did not see it personally, but I looked at it in Odie's cameras.

That is probably more information than you need to know, but thank you for checking in with us. Thank you also for praying for us. Please keep it up.

Tuesday Update: We Made It Home

Good news! We finally made it home. I have not even looked at the mileage yet, but somewhere around 900 miles. I have driven sick lots of times, but I can never remember a time when I was happier to get parked. I will tell you more about it later.

Odie is obviously not feeling well, but no chest congestion at this point. It went straight for my chest and burns like fire. Thankfully, KJo is doing fine so far. Even though she tested positive for antibodies, we are still trying to be careful not to expose her to us unnecessarily.

Thank you very much for praying of us. We feel God's help and we are depending on Him. We know that He's Got It All In Control.

Monday Evening Update

Sorry for the delay in the post today.

The update I added to yesterday's post will help explain my tardiness.

Odie and I woke up this morning (Sunday) feeling crummy. We do not want to necessarily expose anyone to COVID so I called Pastor Michael Brandon and informed him we were not feeling well. He put us in touch with a lady in his church that works at the local hospital and within minutes, we were getting a rapid test.

Unfortunately, Odie and I both tested positive for COVID. Obviously, revivals this week and next week are canceled. We are trying to decide exactly what to do, but we are leaning toward trying to drive home, while I am still feeling almost human.

Kelly Jo is doing fine. She tested positive for antibodies in the early winter, so she has had COVID at some point, probably early on. We are still trying to be very careful around her.

I want to do the best thing and being at home feels like the right thing at the moment. Please pray for us. Thank you

We drove 282 miles Sunday evening and stopped at the Alabama Welcome Center in I-20. Odie and I were both able to rest some overnight. It was uneasy rest, but it was rest.

We had a good day of driving Monday with no traffic in Birmingham and very little traffic trouble in Nashville. We made it 413 miles and we are only about 215 miles from the Lazy OD Ranch. I sure wish  I could drive the last leg tonight, but the truth is that I probably drove 100 miles too far anyway.

There may not be a post published Tuesday morning, but I will try to put up an update Tuesday after we are home, by God's grace.

Thank you for checking in today. Please pray.

View Out The Front Window 1/31/2021

Update:
Odie and I woke up this morning feeling crummy. We do not want to necessarily expose anyone to COVID so I called Pastor Michael Brandon and informed him we were not feeling well. He put us in touch with a lady in his church that works at the local hospital and within minutes, we were getting a rapid test.
