What Is Happening This Week

Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking in from Ohio. I hope you are doing well. Things are going good for us. We are in preparation mode. We are scheduled to be rolling next Saturday to Central City, Kentucky.

Indoor 2022
Before we travel, we have a busy week ahead. This is one of our favorite weeks of the year. Indoor 2022 begins at church on Tuesday. We are excited about the days ahead.

When not on the road, we attend Dryden Road Pentecostal Church. The church is located at 3201 Dryden Road. Our Pastor, Bro Bennie Sutherland and our church family, host an Indoor Fellowship Meeting every year.

This is one of the few meetings we plan on attending every year. This allows us to see many friends visiting us from across the country. Will you be joining us this year?

The campmeeting service schedule is Tuesday-Friday night at 7 PM. There will also be services Wednesday- Friday at 10 AM and 6 PM youth service.

This year's scheduled ministers are Pastor Bill Parks from Tulsa, Oklahoma and Pastor Dwain Galiher from West Plains, Missouri. Both of these men are excellent preachers and superb men of God. Visiting ministers will also be preaching during the morning youth services.

The Dryden Road Pentecostal Church services are broadcast live on Mixlr here. The Mixlr user name is DRPC-AUDIO. The services are also archived in the showreels feature of the Mixlr app.

I look forward to the encouragement and the help we get from the services. Campmeeting is a wonderful time to recharge our spiritual batteries!

The fellowship with family and friends is amazing each year. I make lots of great memories every time. I am excited for this year! Breakfast, lunch and nightly concessions are served during the meeting.

You can see loads of campmeeting pictures from the years past in our blog archives. We will have many pictures from this year in the coming days. Next Saturday, I plan to post my notes from the services.

Special Days
There are some special days for a few of my family members that I want to commemorate today. We will be busy with campmeeting when these days roll around, officially. I decided to mention them a little early.

Happy Birthday
On August 23 1996, my cousin Lauren Elizabeth Osborn was born. Happy 26th birthday girl. You will always be our "Baby Lauren"!

How in the world have 26 years passed since you entered this world? We love you!

August 23 is also the birthday of my little cousin Jackson Lee Daniels. He will be 3 in a few days.

Happy Birthday, Jackson! I love you to the moon and back, buddy! I am glad for the time that I spent with him this summer. Jackson is one cool little boy!

There is one more birthday to mention today. This one is a big one! Miss Deidre Shoemaker entered the world on August 26 1992.

My world changed 30 years ago when God gave us Deidre Faye Boggs! She was my very first "first cousin"! God blessed me with the best sister/cousin a girl could dream of having. I did not know the joy my life had been missing up until that day!

Happy 30th birthday, Lil' Sis! I love you so much! I hope you have a fantastic birthday! Welcome you to the thirties club! We get to be in the same decade again for a few years.

Happy Anniversary
My Uncle Danny and Aunt Jeanna are celebrating 31 years of marriage on August 24. They were married when I was 5 years old. I was their flower girl. This is a picture of me with them from last Thanksgiving.

Happy Anniversary, Uncle Danny and Aunt Jeanna. I hope you have a fabulous anniversary. I love you both so much!

Thanks for stopping by to visit with me today. See you next week.

Odie‘s Fourth of July Weekend

Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking in from Ohio. I hope you have had a fantastic week. I am doing well.

Today I want to tell you about my fourth of July weekend. First, we will rewind to Thursday, the thirtieth of June. It was time for a checkup with my eye doctor.

Going to these checkups is always a little unnerving for me. I did not think there had been drastic changes in my eyes, but you never know what they will find.

It turned out to be a three hour appointment. The checkups are longer when I have to do testing. It is a hurry up and wait situation. Then my doctor had to deal with an emergency. The doctor's staff handled everything well.

Papaw waited with me during the whole appointment. I appreciate Papaw and Mamaw taking me to my appointment!

I am blessed with an eye doctor that is genuinely concerned about me! Last week they did a series of tests to monitor things. Praise God, everything was holding steady! I am thankful for Good news and healthy eyes! Here is a selfie while waiting for Doctor Kopp. I could not see clearly here. My eyes were dilated, which is my least favorite part of visiting the eye doctor.

We had to hurry to Waynesville for a funeral for a dear family friend. Then it was time for lunch!

Thursday night was dedicated to church. Friday, I cleaned my house and did laundry. I do not have pictures of those activities.

Saturday was another eventful day. My friend Stephanie Stansell and I decided to try our hand at making a Keto Apple Pie. She was the head chef and I was her helper. We made our crust on Saturday. The crust turned out fabulous and we had a ton of fun!

Saturday night, I spent a little time with family enjoying fireworks at my cousin's house.

Sunday, it was time to be with my wonderful church family!

After church, it was time to finish our pie. We made time to eat Alcapulco. The food, fun and fellowship with special friends was fabulous!

Making the pie filling.

Ready for the top crust.

This is the pie all ready for the oven.

The yummy finished product.

Bro. Rick and Timmy were our entertainment for the afternoon.

Sunday night service

After church, we had an apple pie bake off. Sis. Bev Blevins is the reigning apple pie champion at DRPC. Sis. Heather Hisle came in at a close second. It was fun to eat pie and fellowship after church.

Sis Stephanie and I made our pie, so we did not have to blow our diets. We were pleased with the way the pie turned out.

Then I finished my weekend by watching the fireworks that my neighbors were setting off.

This was a great weekend full of fun. I hope you enjoyed a peek into my weekend. Thanks for stopping by to visit with me. See you next time.

Odie's Ohio Fun In Pictures

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in from the Beach Cottage. Happy Summer! The heat of summer has officially arrived. We had a cool spring with a few warm days sprinkled in. I did not turn my Airconditioner on until Memorial Day. By the middle of June, the roaster turned on! I am thankful for a nicely insulated home! It has not been hard to keep cool at all.

How are you doing? I am doing "fine as frog's hair," to quote my Papaw Eugene. 😀 I have been really enjoying my time here at home! Along the way, I have been sharing a few pictures of my home time. Today I have several from last week to share with you.

Our Aunt Callie and her husband, Louis, stopped by Waynesville for a quick visit. It was wonderful to see them.

My Cosun Deidre sent this picture of Chloe Jean to the family last week. This is a Boggs look we get from our Papaw. We call it the "I'm mad face."

It is now Papaw's favorite picture. Here is  Papaw posing with Chloe Jean.

I have enjoyed my time with my precious church family at Dryden Road! Thank you to my family and friends that have been helping me with rides to and from church! It is fun to get to spend time with them!

I love my hugs from Everly Alexander. This day she stayed long enough for a picture.

Kyran is so sweet! He loves church selfies with me every time. He often requests pictures with the others around us too.

I was able to visit Alcapulco.

This sign on the sign-in desk cracked me up. I think this is an excerpt from the book of Davy!

I had a fabulous lunch and fellowship with Briley, Ava, Rebecca, Grace and Sarah. We are already looking forward to next time.

I made a new dessert that was really good! I had to send Mom a picture.

On Friday, I spent the afternoon with Gran and Papaw Danny. We enjoyed a scrumptious dinner at Chilis, then a trip to Sams Club.

Last Saturday, Jacqueline came over to visit me. This is one of my favorite people on the planet! I wish all of you could know her! I know you would love her too!!

Fathers' Day 2022 at Dryden Road

Our friends Bro. Bob and Sis. Tish Rice visited from Virginia. I failed to get a picture of Sis. Tish. I had to send this picture of Bro. Bob to Dad.

Some services at church, Kenedy loves me and others she is not in the mood. This was a good day and she was in the picture mood too.

Emily is a sweetheart! She has grown up too quick!

Bro. Bob Dotson won the drawing for DRPC Ugliest Father Award 2022.😀 He wanted his title on the blog.

Enchiladas for lunch

That is a wrap on last week's pictures. I hope you enjoyed a peek into my fun. See you next week.
