Posting Plan The Next Two Weeks

Real time update: KJo and I made it to Nigeria Wednesday. Our plane landed early at 3:35 AM Eastern Time which was 9:35 in Nigeria. It took us about two hours to exit the plane and work our way through customs, immigration and baggage claim. Two hours after that, our friends were depositing us in the hotel.

This is our posting plan for the next two weeks.

I am writing this while still in the States. By the time you read this, we should be preaching the first services of the Minister's Conference in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, West Africa. I am supposed to preach three times on Thursday and seven times in our first 72 hours in Abeokuta.

That pretty much sets the course for the whole trip and we are fine with that. We might as well stay busy while we are there. In a few days, we will be home and I will be wishing I was back in Nigeria.

I have no idea if I will have time to post each day or any internet to post at all. Some years we have passable internet, some years we have none at all. It may be that I can not post. If that is the case, then Odie will take over as much as she can.

IF I do have internet, then I may post more than once a day. When you read each day for the next two weeks, check to see if there have been previous posts that day. The posts could show up at any time because Nigeria time is six hours ahead of Eastern Time in the USA.

Thank you for checking in and thank you for praying for us. We need and desire God's help.

A Word For Wednesday The #1 Reason For Revival

So glad you joined us today. It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

There is one main reason we are spending our lives trying to be and instrument of revival across America and that is that souls might be saved!

Paul said of Jesus, This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. I Timothy 1:15

Christ came with one great aim and that is to save sinners. That is our one great aim in life!

In September, Milton was saved under the Blue and White Gospel Tent in Richton, Mississippi. Pastor Scott Morris baptized Bro. Milton recently and I have a video of it for you.

If you would like to argue the technique or formula for baptism, please move on! This is neither the time nor the place. This is how we do it, but today we are celebrating the salvation of an 80 year old man during revival! Wow! It is a beautiful thing!

I appreciate Bro. Milton and Pastor Scott Morris allowing me to post the video of the baptism. Sis. Felicia Cochran provided the video and I appreciate her permission to post it.

Thank you for stopping by.

Just The Way We Like It!

Friday was a longish travel day for us. We drove 336 miles from Paducah, Kentucky to Vonore, Tennessee.

336 miles. For many years, 800 to 1000 miles each day was normal for us and we scheduled accordingly. That is no longer the case.

Two or three years after buying the bus, we started shooting for 550 mile days as our normal "long" day. We kept that pace pretty much until Covid. We have been trying to drive no more than 350 miles a day the last three years unless it is an emergency.

In the last six weeks, we have been able to do much better than that and we love it just like that!💕💕💕

The 336 mile day was our longest mileage day since October 9 when we drove 342 on our way toward Oklahoma. We stopped for the night in Missouri.

Our next travel day was 113 miles.
Then 143 miles.
37 miles.
19 miles.
19 miles.
212 miles.
169 miles.
108 miles.
179 miles.
109 miles.
172 miles.
And finally 68 miles.

That is nearly seven weeks with only one 200 mile day, only three more days over 150 miles and one three week period with less than 80 miles total! That is amazing and we love it just like that.

Plus, the BoggsMobile went from October 9 to November 13 between fuel stops! Yay!

We will ruin this soon by traveling over 6000 miles in less than 24 hours. Thankfully, the bus is not going.

Thank you for stopping by today.

The Weekend Dispatch

This was our last weekend before leaving for Nigeria. It was time to finish our trip to Vonore, Tennessee in order for the bus to be in the right position and to put us closer to the airport.

We had planned to spend Saturday driving between Paducah, Kentucky and Vonore, but we changed it to Friday for good reason. Odie discovered that the University of Tennessee was playing a football game against a Nashville team. That was going to create a horrible traffic situation on I-40.

We have driven in that Saturday football traffic in Tennessee before and that is not something we want to repeat. We intended to avoid 100,000 rabid football fans if we could and we did that by driving Friday during the day.

It was a long drive, but it was made much easier with less traffic. We stopped for fuel near the end and pulled into Jeff's at 4:15 Friday afternoon.

Saturday was spent working on final preparations for Nigeria and Sunday we preached for Pastor Herman Woods at Beechfork Holiness Church about an hour and twenty minutes from us. We had a wonderful service with friends followed by a super great meal and fellowship.

Wow! What a wonderful day it was with friends. We have been preaching at Beechfork since 1987 we love these folks so much.

Thank you all for reading today.

Thankful He Came

Hey Friends,

This is Odie, checking in with you today. I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. I appreciate you spending a moment of your Saturday with me.

We are in final prep mode around the BoggsMobile. Early Monday morning, I am flying home to Ohio. On Tuesday, my parents are scheduled to fly to Nigeria. Prayers are appreciated for all of us this week. Especially for my parents as they embark on their mission trip to see our precious Nigerian friends!

This is the final Saturday in November. I have used this month of Thanksgiving to express extra gratitude for just a few of my blessings. God has blessed me abundantly, and I will forever be thankful! I have covered HeavenVeterans, and My Friend AmandaToday, I wanted to close out the month with one more thing that comes to mind when I think about things to thank God for.

Christmas time is upon us! I love this time of year and the reason we have Christmas. Jesus is the reason for this season every year! December is the month we set aside to celebrate the birth of Jesus. He was born so we could have a Savior and hope! Today, I am thankful for the birth of Jesus!

When God sent Jesus into the world, He sent His only son to come to change our world! Jesus gave up Heaven for you and me! He had never experienced the pain and hardships of life. Jesus and His life are the greatest gifts given to mankind!

The birth of Jesus, His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave changed my life! He is still changing lives in 2023! Jesus Christ came into this world with a purpose: to save sinners. I am reminded of a scripture my Dad often quotes. It is now one of my favorites.

This is a faithful saying, worthy of all acceptations, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am chief.
1 Timothy 1:15

While pondering this topic, I remembered the song Until He Came, which my parents wrote many years ago. Click the video below to hear the song. The message in this song wraps everything up nicely! I am extra thankful He came and for His sacrifices just for us!

See you next time.

Revival In Pictures-West Plains, Missouri

We hope you had a great day of Thanksgiving yesterday. Our family spent the day in the bus in Paducah, Kentucky finishing up preparations for our trip to Nigeria.

Revival In Pictures
Our first revival at Junction Hill Pentecostal Church was in August/September 2003. We had only been on the road a few months when Pastor Dwain Galiher invited us and we scheduled the revival. We enjoyed the revival and getting to know the fine folks in West Plains and we have loved going back ever since.

Our first trip to Junction Hill was in our Chevy truck and our 1984 Hitchhiker fifth wheel. We brought the 2004 Kountry Star fifth wheel a few times and the BoggsMobile has been here so much it feels right at home.

It feels good to come back year after year to familiar places and to have revival with familiar faces. We love Pastor Galiher and his family and congregation. We sure are happy that they seem to love us in return.

I hope you enjoy the Revival In Pictures. Thank you for stopping by.
