Summary of City Reach Ft. Worth

Today's post is Summary of City Reach Ft. Worth. I am still moved when I think about folks that were touched during that meeting. I appreciate the churches and Pastors that carried our burden. Their efforts made the difference and God blessed it all.

We are now in the midst of our second City Reach campaign since we finished up in Ft Worth but I want to share some thoughts and the links for City Reach Ft Worth with you.

City Reach Ft. Worth was a success because of the participation of the local churches and the Pastors. They prayed, they worked, they worshiped and they witnessed. I do not want to even attempt this without the local churches. Their input, their prayers, and their participation are critical to the success of these meetings.

Therefore I am thrilled when Pastors and churches join in the effort and see the benefit of joining with us to reach souls. You hear me talk about City Reach all the time. You hear me talk about people praying and lives that are touched. But I think it is important for you to hear that from a different perspective.

Two of the Pastors involved in City Reach have written their perspective and I want to pass their thoughts on to you.

From Pastor Richard Franks:

I was thrilled to be a part of Fort Worth City Reach. The response to the out reach was amazing. To see the needs of hurting souls being met was such a blessing. Our burden to go out into the hi-ways and hedges and compel them to come in has been renewed. Working with the Boggs family and the area Pastors has been a pleasure.

From Pastor J.J. Stevens:

City Reach Fort Worth

What a tremendous time we had at City Reach Fort Worth! It was an eye opening experience. I feel as though we have tried to be sensitive to souls around us. I thought we understood that there were people hurting around us, but I didn't realize just how many. It seemed as though that everyone that prayed at City Reach were hurting. Every one of them were presented with the Gospel for help and hope for their hurting hearts. It was so encouraging to see those receive the help that they needed. There was someone praying for salvation just about every night. Several nights there was more than one in the altars praying for salvation. Also, there were two that testified of healing. For this, our church will not be the same!

We are thankful for the opportunity to try to continue to help a few of those that prayed at City Reach. There is nothing better for a church than to have new converts! Since City Reach, we have had visitors just about every service. Some are friends we made during the revival, but others have just walked in over the last few weeks. It seems like God is still blessing the prayers and efforts our church put into City Reach Fort Worth.
I am thankful for the opportunity to work with Bro. Jack Blankenship, Bro. Richard Frank, and Bro. Phillip Bernard. I appreciate their fellowship and friendships!
Also, thank you to the Boggs Family Ministries and Bro. Jimmy Radcliffe. The burden they have for the lost and broken is stirring, their organization and efficiency is inspiring, and their commitment to City Reach is convicting. Thank God for brothers and sisters in Christ that are willing to reach the lost at all cost!
Lastly, I am thankful for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! It is He that saves, sets free, delivers, and heals us. What great hope there is in Him!

City Reach Dayton Location

Tuesday night of City Reach OKC was tremendous! God held the rain off until the service was over and God saved some folks in the process. I absolutely loved it. Thank you for praying for the services. It is working!

City Reach Dayton Location

We are still working out some of the final details of City Reach Dayton but we are ready to announce the location. This has been one of the most challenging cities to find a location AND get permission from the property owners. A few men in the Dayton area have been diligent to help me look but every time I asked for permission, I came up empty.

The last several weeks I have been going over locations and making phone calls and waiting for a call back. Last week I received two calls on two different locations I had inquired about. One of the locations was my very first choice. The owner was very willing to let us use the property but the dates did not work out and conflicted with a business he is opening.

The other call was about a location right near I-75 near downtown. We had noted this location back in August and had driven passed it again in December. One of the men looking for locations for me had also suggested it. It is not a perfect location. It does have the visibility of I-75 but I-75 also separates the location from an ideal City Reach neighborhood. Not perfect but still very good and hopefully right where God wants us.

The city of Dayton was very accommodating in the permitting process and I can foresee one lady in a certain city office getting a very nice fruit tray or something when I get there. She was that good, that kind and that efficient! I LOVE talking to and working with nice people that seem like they are trying to make life easier and not more difficult.

City Reach Dayton will be held at 601 N. Main St. Dayton, Ohio July 10-15, Sunday-Friday. Service on Sunday will begin at 6:30 and Monday-Friday will begin at 7:30. The location is just south of I-75 on the west side of North Main St.

We are excited and a lot of folks around Dayton are excited too. Please continue to pray that God will have His will and way in Dayton and in our lives. Make plans to come be with us too!

Thanks for reading.

The Tent Goes Up In OKC

I scheduled the set up a little later than normal in Oklahoma City to give Kelly Jo and I a chance to rest a few hours after leaving Wichita at the end of service Friday night. Normally we have the stake layout marked by the night before but we were doing that Saturday morning too. We like to start set up at 8:00 in order to beat the heat and allow folks to get on with their plans for the day. There are things to piddle with all day but most of the crew can leave within about two hours.

We were going to start at 10:00 but some of the Pastors announced 9:00. We had a great crowd present at 9:00 so away we went. In less than two hours the tent was up, the lights were hung and the chairs were set.

The stakes go in and the tent goes out.

We had quite a bit of wind for the tent set up! Once we set up the center poles, it looked like we would never get the tent strapped down tight. The wind actually lifted some of the ladies off the ground as they were holding the side poles. No pictures of flying people unfortunately.

If you have ever wondered why the traveling circus has elephants, wonder no more after you see the picture below!

Our dear friend Bro. JR Alexander stopped by to help us Saturday! Thanks Bro. JR. It was great to see you!

Some of the set up crew left early to pass out some more flyers so they missed the group picture. The next two pictures are of some of them.

Here is the fantastic set up crew for City Reach OKC. They worked hard and most everything was done before the heat of the day settled in.

It was a great set up day and all went well and every one was safe. We are having good services and we are expecting them to be even better the next four nights. Come and be with us if you can.

Thanks for reading.
