BoggsMobile Up In The Air

They raised the BoggsMobile back up for some more work so I
snapped a picture. It was so cool to see. I hope they don't keep it up
there until I pay the bill. lol

Davy

BoggsMobile

Hello from Tennessee on Thursday.

The first picture is of the BoggsMobile in the service bay at
Prevost Nashville.

The second is the backside of my inside dually tire. It shows the
evidence of a seal leaking oil pretty badly.

The third pic is the brake drum. You can see the oil on that as well.

The forth is another bus on a lift. We were lifted up in the air
looking down on the tops of the buses this morning but I didn't think
to take a picture. It was pretty cool to have 45,000 lbs. Up in the air.

We left after church Monday night and drove to Springfield, TN which
is just North of Nashville. We were at Roberts Bros. Coach in November
having some air conditioners installed and this trip they were
correcting a few things.

While at Roberts Bros. one side of the bus didn't air up properly.
It was so cold Tuesday morning that any moisture in the lines probably
froze. So everybody I asked recommended having the air dryer serviced.

We were here for a 7am appointment at Prevost and while servicing
the air dryer they spotted the leaking oil seal. That is what they are
working on now. It may not be the best way to start our first trip of
2010 but it is better than a wheel bearing catching on fire while
going down the road.

God knows what He is doing so we trust His hand.

That brings you up to date. Oh, we added some more pictures to the
website. Have a look and let us know what you think. We enjoy the
feedback.

Great Day!

We have had a great couple of days with family and friends.
Yesterday we went down to Hillsboro and spent the afternoon and
evening with Kelly Jo's family. We ate a great meal and had wonderful
fellowship with them.
Today the Boggs clan and a few extras gathered in the Dodds church
fellowship hall for a meal and a bunch of fun. We haven't been
finished very long and I laughed so hard the last few minutes that my
side hurts.
I love to give gifts all year long but I've never mastered the art
of receiving gifts graciously. I would rather be on the giving end.
But Odie gave me a gift today that really excites me. She gave me "The
Reese Chronological Bible" in the KJV of course. Mr Reese worked with
many others to place each verse of the Bible in Cronological order.
Bro. Timmons and Pastor Michael Johnson up in Goshen were talking
to me about this Bible in November and the rest is history. I am
really looking forward to reading through it. I'll let you know how
it goes.
Hope you all had a great day. God bless you every one.

Bluff Mountain

These were taken today (Monday) on Bluff Mountain in Tennessee. It
was absolutely beautiful. I actually drifted over into the ditch while
taking in the beauty. Thank God for four wheel drive.

Mile Markers

This blog worked so well for providing updates from Nigeria that we are going to continue using it for our regular Mile Marker updates.  We have been posting them on our website but since we often go days and weeks without internet service in our travels, this may work much better. We can post individual pictures and news on here with email from our phones without having to find Internet service for the computer.  Anyway, we will try it for a while and if it works we will make it a permanent thing.  We will not send out an email each time we post here but if you join here as a follower I think you have the option to be notified of each update.  We will continue to send out an email update when we make changes or post groups of pictures on www.davykellyandodie.com. If you would like to be added to our email list go to the website and email us from there and let us know.
Speaking of pictures, we have bunches of pictures from Nigeria and we added four sets today.  The others will be added over the next week or so.  Please look at the pictures and let us know what you think.  I wish we could capture the reality of Nigeria in a picture but at least they give you an idea of what it is like.  We hope you enjoy.
The Jeep is out of the shop now and running fine. They replaced the plugs, distributor cap and rotor button. But the main problem was a bad battery that we purchased in June of this year. Auto Zone replaced it free and Mr. Jeep is On the Road Again!
   God bless you every one.

Sunday

Bro Berkley Rose-One of our favorite musicians.

This morning we were intending to go to our home church at Dryden
Rd. But the jeep would not start. That's the 1st time it's let me down
completely. Since we are parked at Dodds church we went there Sunday
morning. Pastor Rex Lloyd asked me to preach so I went after the lost.
We had a good service and Holy Ghost conviction was very strong. That
shows how much I know about where I'm supposed to be sometimes.

Dad helped me get the jeep running so we were able to keep our
commitment for Sunday night. We went to Victory Pentecostal in
Hamilton where Bro. Donald Pierce is the pastor. We had a great time
there even though the Pierce family is in Alabama for the Holiday with
his family.

We were able to see many friends in each service and we enjoyed
that very much. Bro. Berkley is one of them and he stood still long
enough to get a pic.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. The laundry from the trip
needs to be done, we need to work on a newsletter and the jeep needs
to go to the shop.

God bless,
Davy

Pizza!

Great LaRosa's Pizza!

Kelly Jo and I had a craving for good Pizza so we slipped down to
Lebanon to LaRosa's. It was great and we had plenty left over for
later.

We cleaned up and went to bed before 6 last night and I actually
stayed in bed until 8 this morning. It felt so good I'm planning on
doing it again tonight.

The Dryden Rd. Christmas Dinner is tonight but we're not going to
make it. We hate to miss the good food and fellowship but we're not
near recovered yet. We plan to be there tomorrow morning for church
and then we are supposed to be in Hamilton tomorrow night with Pastor
Donald Pierce.

God bless all.

Home Sweet Home

We arrived home around 3:30 Friday afternoon after almost 30 hours
of traveling. We would have made it home a lot earlier without the
delays in Atlanta but when you think about the distance from Abeokuta
to Waynesville 30 hours is not bad at all!

Dad & Mom picked us up and delivered us safely home and we sure
appreciate it. Also Dad looked after the bus while we were gone and
made sure it didn't freeze up. Mom stocked us with sandwich stuff so
we wouldn't have to make a run for the grocery. Thank you Ma & Pa.

We are glad to be home and thankful for the help of the Lord. God
bless and to all a good long night!

Skyline

This is Odie and my mother at Skyline. Odie had to have some
Skyline Chili on the way home from the airport.
Davy

Still Almost Home

Well, we are still almost home. We were supposed to leave Atlanta
at 7:30 AM but the flight was finally cancelled at 10:15 and now we
are on a 12:05PM flight that we hope is going to go. It has been a
long day so far. We should sleep good tonight.
Davy

Almost Home

We deplaned, went through immigration, collected our luggage, went
through customs, checked our bags, went back through security and
found our gate at the other end of the airport in less than 45
minutes. It must be some kind of record.

The flight from Lagos went well and we are now almost home.

Lagos Airport

Odie & Kelly Jo at the airport in Lagos, Nigeria.

It is 7:45 pm as I type this which is 1:45 pm eastern time on
Thursday the 10th. I have no idea when I will be able to post it.

We made it to Lagos in good time and are now sitting at our
departure gate. The plane is scheduled to leave at 10:30 pm and
arrive in Atlanta 13 hours later at 5:30 am. If all goes well we will
catch our connecting flight and be in Dayton, Ohio around 9.

Bro. Shobanke brought us to Lagos along with Pastor Amos, Pastor
Israel, Bro. Samuel, Emmanuel our driver and his brother that drove
the second car. It was very sad to see them go as we entered the
security area. These men are my brothers and I already miss them very
much.

Thank you very much for praying for us on this short trip. Bro.
Shobanke told me today that he was very pleased with the results of
the meetings and I praise God for that.

Hope to see you soon but if something happens that we do not make
it home don't worry about us. We will be in God's hands and that is
the safest place I know.

Davy, Kelly & Odie

Leaving Nigeria

Our plan is to leave for the airport in Lagos at 4:00 PM, which is 10:00 AM EST in the U.S.A.
Our flight is scheduled to depart at 10:35 PM local time. We are looking forward to getting home. Please pray for us as we travel!

Ramp

We thought we would add a picture of the only place in Nigeria
where we saw a handicap ramp. It was at the entrance to our hotel in
Ibadan.

Conference 12/9/09

A picture of the preachers and other church workers in attendance
the last day of the Minister's Conference in Ibadan.

We had a great conference and a great final day. Bro. Shobanke told
me that in the process of organizing and conducting the conference he
had been introduced to other holiness fellowships he did not know
before. That is certainly a blessing. Praise God for those of like
precious faith!
I am thankful our family had a chance to be a part of it.

Pastor Samuel Babarinde & Davy

Pastor Samuel Babarinde is the Pastor of His Grace Evangelical
Church in Ibadan. He hosted the Ibadan Minister's Conference.
The founding Pastor Bishop Nicholas Osameyan was away on a mission
trip to South Africa.
I appreciate these men for opening their doors for the conference.
Davy

Bro. Kuye & Davy

Pastor Stephen Kuye Is Pastor of Landmark Christ Mission. The
Gospel Crusade this week was held behind his church. He told me today
that much of the crowd each night were visitors and the response among
them was great. The Spirit of The Lord was really working in their
community.
That is even more special in this case since his church is in a
Muslim community. He himself was converted from Islam many years ago.
Bro. Kuye told me that 80% of his church people are converts from
Islam to Christianity. Praise God! That is awesome. I love what God
is doing through the ministry of his church.
Help us pray for this man of God and his church that is planted
right in the middle of the harvest field. Pray for their protection
and their efforts to win the lost.

12/8/09 Gospel Crusade

Tonight was the last night of the Crusade in Ibadan and we had the
biggest crowd yet. Bro. Kuye's people have embraced us and loved us
and my heart has been touched. There is no way I can understand the
hardships and heartache they feel every day but my heart is filled
with compassion for them. I will remember them and pray for them long
after I am gone from Nigeria.
Pray that God will bless and keep Pastor Kuye and his people.
Davy

Landmark Christ Mission

This is Landmark Christ Mission in Ibadan, Oyo State. It is the
church I preached in Sunday morning and the Gospel Crusade has been
held behind it this week. The actual church is a wood structure in the
center surrounded by block walls. The block walls are for the new church.
They are almost ready to put the roof on it.
Bro. Stephen Kuye is the Pastor.

His Grace

First, I need to correct a post from yesterday. I didn't type the
full name of the church. The name of the church for the Minister's
Conference this week is "His Grace Evangelical Church."

The conference was good again today. We had great response in both
sessions and the Lord really blessed.
You might assume that when you have a Minister's Conference that
is sponsored by Pentecostals you would only attract Pentecostal
preachers. Especially with the conference theme of Pentecost. But my
experience in 2007 taught me differently. I knew there would be
preachers and church workers from all types of churches. So I planned
accordingly.
When I finished the second session today I first called for those
that did not have the Baptism of The Holy Ghost but desired to be
filled. Twelve men and women responded and then the rest gathered
behind them. We then had a great move of the Holy Ghost.
I did not get to talk to any of them after church but I know they
were touched by the Lord.
One more Crusade service and one more service in the Minister's
Conference and soon we will be headed home. Please continue to pray
for us.
Davy

Chicken Republic

Today after the conference Pastor Kuye treated us to a wonderful meal at Chicken Republic.

Palm Crackers

I was so hungry today that I forgot to take a picture of our meal.
We had fried chicken and chips (French fries). It was very good.
Tonight Sis. Adelani brought us a snack she had prepared. Kelly Jo
remembered to take a picture of those before they were gone. I think
she called them Palm Crackers. They were light and airy in texture
like a cinnamon twist from Taco Bell and they are quite tasty.
That's the food report for Monday.
Davy

Crusade

The spiritual resistance to the Gospel message was strong all
evening but the Word of the Lord prevailed. The Lord proved the Power
in the name of Jesus and gave us a breakthrough in the altar service.
Praise God! We took some pictures with my phone while the move of God
was in progress but all I got was a blur. It was awesome.
A genuine move of God in Africa is just the same as it is in the
states. When God breaks the chains of sin, heals the sick or sets the
captive free the response is spontaneous joy! We had that joy
tonight. God gave the victory and the people shouted for joy!
One more night of the Crusade tomorrow. We are believing God for
his help.
Davy

Altar Service

The crowd for the conference in Ibadan was smaller than the
conference in Abeokuta. There were between 60-70 in attendance. But
those that were present were really touched by God.
After I finished preaching I called the people to the front and
prayed for them. I then called for Bro. Shobanke and he PRAYED for all
of us. I'm not kidding when I say he probably prayed as hard as he
could for at least 35-40 minutes or more. While he prayed we had a
continual Holy Ghost outpouring in that place. The Fire Fell from
Heaven and baptised us once again.
Praise God for a move of His Spirit among the preachers and church
workers! Thanks for praying. Tomorrow the topic is "Pentecost and The
Faithfulness It Brings."
The Crusade continues tonight behind Pastor Kuye's church. There
are many Muslims in the area of the church. Please pray that God will
work in these Crusade services to break the chains of darkness that
keep these precious people in Bondage.
The sermon tonight, "The Awesome Power In The Name of Jesus!"

Crusade

The Gospel Crusade

Tonight was the first night of the three night Gospel Crusade
behind Bro. Stephen Kuye's church, Landmark Christ Mission in Ibadan.
The crowd was very good and very responsive to the preaching. It is a
great place for the meeting because there are people all around and
many passing through the grounds.
It is our first time in Ibadan and we have been received with open
arms. May God bless these wonderful folks.
Please continue to pray that God will pour out his Spirit in the Crusade.
So many are bound but God is able to break the chains of sin.
Tomorrow we begin the Minister's Conference here in Ibadan. The
theme is Pentecost. Tomorrow's message is "The Fire That Falls". Pray
that it does fall on us.
Thanks for the emails and the comments.
